stop worrying about it, if you have never had any boosting problems, then you have no problems. put it back on the car, weld up the hole in the manifold, and drive the damned car.

everyone on this forum gets so scared of every little thing. isnt driving a fast car supposed to be fun?

reading owns u. manifold was replaced for the last time. i will worry sense its an expensive turbo and dont want it to blow. this isnt a t3to4 its a gt35r and the rebuilt arent cheap, on top of it all theres no motor even in the car

YEah at a second look at the manifold i would say those welds didnt penetrate very well, not enough heat put into the materials which is why that piece chipped off.

Get your self a new manifold otherwise your going to eat that turbo

Your bearings are probably fine. Just send it to BLAAST, Turbonetics, etc to have the turbine wheel replace.

They will probably try to get you to have the whole thing rebuilt, but just tell them to replace the wheel and balance the assembly.

Turbine wheels aren't cheap though. They include the shaft and are usually 3x more $$ than compressor wheels.

I didn't mean to sound like an *** before, but I cringe when I see fragile parts being abused. Setting it on the table might bend the blades. It's just good habits, that's all.

turbo is going on its second year BUT its only been used for maybe 5 months. a month in 05 and like 4 this year it sits alot due to motor problems and winters so i doubt they will warrantie it plus i bought it brand new off of a seller on here

im not looking forward to haveing the wheel fixed, i swear onefab has caused me more problems then i could have imagined. does anyone have an idea what a turbine cost

a standard t series turbine wheel cost about 400 bucks, so i would imagine the GT series turbine wheel being closed to 600+. there is nothign wrong with running that wheel the way it is.

Here is you options,
1. run it the way it is and over a long period it throws off balance and you pay 900 to have it rebuilt

2. send it in for 900 and have it rebuilt and use it like a new turbo

either way your going to pay 900 now or 900 down the road, i would opt for 900 down the road, use what you got now, get your money worth and then rebuild it if you notice its smoking or spool has drastically reduced or performance is falling off big time

Looks to me like you bent the fins in the process of removing the housing itself up top, and near the exducer. The turbo itself may not have to be rebuilt, but the turbine shaft may need to be replaced. If it were simply the tips of the exducer, I can remachine and rebalance it, but it is in the heart of the inducer going towards the exducer of that wheel. That can't be machined out.

the only bends is near the bottom, i didnt bend the top of them they are all fine. and for the bottom little bends no its def not from pulling off the houseing. didnt u look at the pictures the way they are bent it would be impossible for me to bend them like that, on top of it i pulled it straight of slow and didnt even scrap the fins. it is 99.9% sure from the piece of the manifold that fell in..

I saw that in addition to your exducer bend. This wheel needs to be replace regardless
