The weekly "What turbo for my h22" thread (I've searched..)
I've searched and read about every post on this forum relating to correct turbo sizing, but I haven't come up with a good answer. I'm going to be running low boost (about 6 lbs. with stock internals) on my daily driven Prelude SH and my target HP goal is around 215-230 at the wheels. I would like to be fully spooled by 4,000 rpms without the turbo running out of breath before redline.
The turbo I've been looking at is a T3/T4 with these specs:
.50 A/R Compressor
.63 A/R Turbine
57 Trim
Does this seem like it would be OK for my needs or is there something better out there that isn't too expensive? I was originally looking at a T3, but everything I've read says that it won't be efficient after 5,000 rpm or so.
I'm sure you guys get sick of answering these questions, but I've seriously researched for about a week and haven't come up with a solid answer. Thanks!

Re: The weekly "What turbo for my h22" thread (This One)
i ran my T3/T4 .63trim which was at full boost(10lbs 325wHP) by 3400RPM on my stock h22. it made it to 15lbs and 404wHP by 3500 still on the stock motor.
SO, .57 trim is way to small.
215-230wHP ???? 6lbs you should have around 250wHP without trying.
oh ya, good luck being able to control the fuel and timing without constant check engine lights or getting rid of SH. the 96+ prelude ecu's are a bitch.

Re: The weekly "What turbo for my h22" thread
On the H22, you can afford to go a little bigger and still not have to worry about turbo lag very much.
I've got a T3/T04b super H stage III .63 BB I'll be putting on my H22 probably next weekend. Supposedly it should be making full boost (8.5 psi at the moment) at around 3300 or sooner. With the stage 3 and .63 this should make power to 7500, no problem. Like trickeng says, you should be over 250 whp even if you don't want to be.
