Default watercooled MVS

just got my new TIAL MVS (38mm V-Band Wastegate) in the mail a few days ago and noticed that there are two H20 ports and the corresponding water fittings. what is the significants of this? do i have to have it watercooled? what are the advantages/disadvantages to being watercooled? if i do run it water cooled, is one side an inlet and the other an outlet? i would really like some detailed insight on this. thanks

Could you also Tee off the coolant lines for a BB turbo?

Ok so I the 44m Waste Gates MV-R and need to run the water lines. What is a good source for the water outlet. How do you install the water lines in and out. I seen some one with a -6 line in the bottom of the radiator is this one option?

This video of my car is from 2010 and hast one of the first watercooled Tial MVS wastegates.
We only do that kind of racing and therefor I suggest you to use the water ports.

I never had an issue with the wastegates since we use the watercooled versions.

You can also see how to route the lines.
Feed line comes from the block and the return line goes to the lower part of my radiator.

Do you have some pictures of the outlets from the block?

The water channels in the bottom of the Tial MVS wastegate help to keep exessive heat away from the diaphragm.
These channels also prevent a small o-ring under the bottom part of the wastegate from melting .
That o-ring seals the inner chamber from atmosphere wich is important for a wastegate to work correct.

For very tight engine bays or WG near manifold situations in combination with that kind of racing we do it is wise to additional shild the wastegate like we did (can bee seen in the video).

If you do all these things, the Tial MVS wastegates are awsome. We never had a wastegate failure with the Tial MVS wastegates on all of our turbocharged circuit race cars.

But we have seen a few failing chinese fake Tial wastegates from other people on the tracks here. Mostly the cheap red rubber diphragms melted or the valve steams stuck in the guides.
Two people melted theire pistons because the WG did not do anything and theire boost raised to the sky.

So, make sure not to get fake Tial wastegates !!!

@wunfstgsr
Yes, I race that car. It was on one of the smallest tracks here in Germany and only a 5 minutes stint.

I also race that car on much bigger ciruits and 30minutes stints. Some straights are touble that long as in this video.
Imagine how much everything glows there. ;-)

Unfortunatly I could not reuse the cam after this video. The lense was damaged.

@MalcomV8
This is a B18C6 with roundabout 440hp.

@gs1gsr
I donīt hava a picture of the outlet. But if you look close, you can see it in the video.
I made the outlet on my own.

I bore a hole in the original freeze plug screw. Than I tread the hole and use a big banjo fitting and a banjo screw for the waterfeed for the GTR turbo.

Then I bore a smaller hole into the head of the banjo screw an weld a 3AN fitting onto the head of the banjo screw. This AN-fitting is used as water feed line for the MVS wastegate.

This is a very clean solution and very simple.

Hope it helps and sorry for my english.
