So, my car isn't turbo yet (it's sitting in the garage)...tonight I went out and finished installing my boost and egt gauges in anticipation of boosting next weekend...however, while letting the engine warm up some to test the probe I walked behind the car and noticed a LOT, few tablespoons atleast, of fluid spattered behind the exhaust! I thought I might have been running insanely rich, but I smelled the fluid and it didn't have much odor and I tried to light it, to no avail...what could be causing this? I don't think I have a blown headgasket; the car had perfect compression about a month ago and my coolant is at it's normal level...
I'm guessing this is somehow normal, but it's ALOT of water and I've never noticed it before...kinda worried, since I'm puttin the turbo on soon...

did it do it only while it was cold? or was the car fully warm and doing the same thing?

the process of combining hydrocarbons in gasoline and oxygen produces water, most of the time it just evaporates but if your idling a cold motor the exhuast might not be hot enough to burn the water off

what are you thinking? trying to light an unknown fluid. that is something you learn never to do in 1st grade. if you cant smell it, dip your finger in it and taste a little drip of it. even if its gas, etc. a taste of a little drip wont harm you.

it was a very small amount on the ground, even if it had been pure gas, it would've been a very small spurt of flame...


the car was pretty cold, but still seemed to do it once the needle was up to the normal position on the stock gauge...the car seems to be fine. I guess I'll pull the plugs (did just a couple weeks back) and make sure it's all cool...thanks guys!
