Default Wastgate question ????

I have a 38mm (no name) wastgate and was wondering if i change it to a different 38mm wastgate like something better like turbonetics or a good brand name if taht will change or mess with my tune. I just got a really good tune and dont really want to **** with it but id think id be alright as long as i keep the boost to where it was tuned at after i put it in.

Im almost positive it will be fine because its not really changing the airflow. But i just want to be sure...

Thanks!

As long as the new wastegate holds the same pressure as your old one and you're tuned for it there is no need to change anything else.

Are you saying i shouldnt change my wastegate if it holds boost fine with the tune? or are you saying ill be fine?...you kinda of worded it weird.

And if theres a dif lb spring in the new one it really wont matter as long as im running the same psi right? Which is 16psi

If you're old wastegate and new wastegate run the same PSI then you don't need to change the tune as for chaning the wastegate it self that is your pereference. If the new wastegate is for 16psi then you'll need to remap your tune and you will most likely get boost creep again which will take you over your desired 16psi.

You also need an after market map sensor, either get 2.5 or 3 bar map sensor that should be more than enough.

I already have a 2.5 bar Motorola. How else would i have been tuned at 16psi with the stock?? But yeh. I was just going to get a better wastgate...set it at around 10 psi and with my Manuel boost controller keep driving and work my way up from there...I have boost cut that will hit at 16 psi so i really don't have much to worry about as far as going over 16psi. I just wanted to kno0w if that would change any airflow of anything resulting in affecting the tune.

The only difference is the new WG could open a tad faster or slower, meaning it will chage spool time a little. As long as you use a boost controller and compensate for any change in boost, it won't matter enough to be an issue.
