Default Wastegate Spring ?

Hey Guys,

I purchased what I believe is a 3.63 psi Tial Spring from No Limit Motorsports 2 days ago, upon receipt it's quite larger than the original spring that was in my wastegate. Now here are my questions:

1. The one on the left is the new spring, is that the 10psi spring?
2. Is there any way to determine my old spring (right) by size rather than the color coating because there doesn't seem like there is any.

Thanks guys.

Is that a TiAL wastegate?

edit:
Measure the spring's O.D. and if it's 1.875", then that's the small yellow TiAL spring which yields 3.63psi in a 38/40mm wastegate. This thread has all the TiAL springs listed:

no, i jumped the gun and assumed the tial spring would work.

It's a innovative turbo systems wastegate.

Well size of spring doesnt nessesarily determine the seat pressure of the spring, push both down with the same hand, which ever one is hared to bottom out is going to be more pressure. if the smaller spring is harder to push down then its the harder more psi spring,

BTW what is the psi of the smaller spring that was already in the WG

I have no idea, that's why I bought the replacement. It seems the smaller one has more psi.

One last question, does it matter that if I use the larger spring it seats on the outer circle right before the diaghram seal as the smaller one seated inside the unit? (very hard for me to explain)

no that wont matter that its larger diameter. in the future if you wanted to you could use both springs to get even more boost pressure just on wastegate

i remember reading that on another forum.

So in the picture, it won't matter the new spring is seated right on the edge?

Here is the original spring placement

And I figure since I'm at it asking questions maybe someone can answer this for me, I bought a t3 turbo and manifold from a seller locally and after really looking at it, I noticed the manifold was modified to fit a d-series engine but some the runners are a little small and cover about 3/4 of the ports on the head. Will this severly effect the performance?

I have a feeling the turbo flange is for a t25 but the turbo was modified to fit it.

No that wont work, the spring still needs to fit inside that flange not on the outter edge liek in the pics. sorry

yep, and the spring is way too tall to work.
you need to call innovative to get the right spring

eh, I'm probably going to buy a tial and just sell this wastegate.

Does anybody have an answer as far as the manifold is concerned?

Even if the setup is for low boost, probably around 5-6 psi?

Thanks for answering my questions.
