wastegate question

Default wastegate question

alright heres the question. i am not really sure how a wastegate works, but if i am planning on running 20 25 psi of boost and my wastegate only has a 13 psi spring in it what will happen? will i never reach the 20 psi of boost i want and be cut off at 13 psi. please help me with how a wastegate works. thanx zack bower

if your wg has 13psi spring then that is what you run. If you have boost controller on that same wg then you can up the boost about 2 times the amount of your spring rating. So then if you are using lets say a MBC and you wnat to crnak it up to 20psi then you are okay using the 13psi spring.

You can never go lower than your spring rating in your wg
