Default wastegate question ?!?

i seen a couple of information about wastegate... and i am really dont know what to do ..

i sold all my old kit to make a better new one..

the question: the size of the wastegate ? more boost you push the size have to be bigger!??!? or.. more boost you push, less air have to come out from the manifold so a little one are better ??

i am confuse right now

I had some definite trouble understanding your post, but I think I might have gathered what you are asking about.

if you run an external w.g. (maybe yours is Tial?) and you want to run, oh say, 7 psi; then you'll want to have a .45Bar spring in it (assuming your not utilizing a boost controller). Keep in mind that the spring rate translates into the lowest boost level you can run (again, assuming no b.c.), and once you reach the specified x.xx bar, then the w.g. will open and bleed out boost so as to prevent any boost creep or spikes.

hope that helped.

okay i have a boost controler and i boost 15-20 psi

since i boost more.. the wastegate have less air to push out the manifold..
so maybe it's better to have a small one?

You need a bigger one for more boost. You are forgeting that everything you put into your engine also comes out. So.....the more you boost, the more you put out.

Looking at TiAL's website, they say something contrary to what you have stated.

LINK See #2 for explanation.

Nope, you will have way more exhaust to expell at 20 psi of boost vs 5psi of boost.Your just expelling it later when you run more boost (takes longer to reach full boost). Since you have more flow you will need a larger wastegate. I.E a 40mm tial vs using a 35mm tial.
the wastegate just releases the exhaust before the turbo to control boost.
