Default wastegate question?

How hard should it be to push the wastegate open with your hand assuming a 6PSI spring?

they're pretty hard to push open, but you should be able to budge it...

Hi,

I dont know if this is the appropriate thread to be asking question.

I have a "fake" HKS wastegate, and its not opening up because when I build boost, it keeps building and building

Then of course I release the throttle, so I wont keep building boost.

It has a dedicated vacume line and its connected on the side port of the wastegate.

I need help, and I know I should have purchased a real branded one, but its too late, but Id appriciate if people can give me advice on how to fix it?

thank you in advance.

This is the type I have.

You shouldn't be pushing the valve in one your w/g. You could damage it.

The lower vacuum port should be going to your compressor housing or similar vacuum/boost source. Is that how you have it hooked up?

My friend bought one of those for his s13 and they sent him the wrong spring inside. So check and see what spring it has in it or test it with an air compressor.
