Wastegate and Manual Boost Controller hookup questions.....
So previously I had my TurboXS HPBC and tial wastegate hooked up as follows:
Pressure source -> blue bottom BC nipple
Brass nipple on BC -> side nipple on wastegate
top nipple on wastegate left alone
Then I'm looking at Tial's homepage and their hookup directions, and notice that they're using both nipples on the wastegate.....
I questioned a friend with a fast talon about this, and he said "yeah, I used to have mine hooked up like yours, but I changed it to the way on tials site and get better wastegate response and it's less raspy and loud"
I've tried hooking it up the way on tial's site, and it wasn't regulating boost at all.....could someone who has their wastegate hooked up like tial says post here and tell me exactly what goes to what? I feel stupid asking this cause it's seemingly simple, but owell eh? We've always hooked up our MBC's the way I had mine previously.....
Thanks!
Brian
P.S. Car went 12.71 @ 115.8 last weekend with a 1.96 60ft at 5600ft altitude Stock motor at 11 psi

Re: Wastegate and Manual Boost Controller hookup questions..... (Firedrake)
i tried doing it the way tial says, but it don't work
the way i have it setup and works prefectly is like this
take the vaccum hose that goes to the waste gate and hook it to the port on the MBC(bottom port)
take another vaccum hose which runs to your intake manifold and hook it to the other end of the MBC (side port)

Right, that's the way I had mine before (I messed up in my description up top and switched the nipples on the BC).....
Thing is, I'm getting a little of a boost spike and thought it might be associated with wastegate response, so I wanted to hook it up like tial says.....
There is no other reason I can think of that it would be spiking at all.....hoses are all short, exhaust is 2.5 DP to 3 inch (no cat)......

i was told that the top port is only for electronic boost controllers...
i am in the same situation, i think im going to run the MBC with one end on a vacume line, and the other end on the side of the tial
