Default Wastegate leak?

I have a leak in my wastegate, when i took it off there are black exhaust gases covering half of the flange. So i assume that it leaking at that place, is it possible to use silicone sealant for this or i should get a gasket?

uhh the wastegate gets pretty hot i wouldnt wanna use a silicone base product.

A gasket is the proper way to fix it..

You can use red high temp silicone if you want to go that route and be fine. I would get a new gasket and use a very thin layer of red silicone on either side of it.
