Default wastegate gasket question

I am about to install my turbo, and I'm hearing a lot about people blowing their wastegate gaskets. I was wondering, since the chances of me blowing mine are pretty high, if I should even put my gasket on there? Has anyone done this? Wastegate without the gasket. Or should I put the gasket on there anyway and see what happens? any advice will be appreciated. thanks in advance
