Thats so you can get to the wastegate valve if you need to.. The exhaust will exit around the valve and come out the opening to the left of the 3 bolt flange where your hand is..

If that makes sense..

 

Yup thats what I figured I can fit my fingers through the openings and see that the wastegate just dumps it with the exhaust. Just found it weird I havn't seen anyone else with the downpipe flange I will have to use

my inner diameter is just under 2inches so that wouldn't work but yeh thats the type of flange. Any muffler shop should have them.

 

2 inches... You might want to get some bigger exhaust there.. Just run 2.5" for the downpipe and then meet up to your 2" there..

 

no my exhaust piping is all 2.25 straight through but the exhaust/wastegate dump hole that my downpipe mounts to is only 2inchs across. This is a small turbo so I'm just gonna run a bigger size dp.
