Default Wastegate for 400 hp?

I will be running a revhard manifold (maybe). I tried searching but Only come up with wastegates for sale and I cant search the word which. I have a fully built ls/vtec. t3t4 .60/.63 60 trim. I want to run about 16psi on track days but about 12 daily. Which wastegate and spring combo should I use? Or better yet which site can I go to to learn this myself ./thanks

Well the revhard manifold is flanged for a 35/38mm gate so that's what you should run. So a tial 38mm gate and 12psi sounds like just what you need!

Tial 38 will do just fine...I'd be more concerned about getting a different manifold versus worrying about the wastegate. I can't rememeber if the RH wastegate flange is centered or offset, but for 400whp, I'd probably upgrade to a "better" manifold.

Drag is the super crappy one, revhard it not to bad at all. Its not dead center but its not way off to the left with restriction in the center like the drag either.

The manifold is still weak in design no matter how u look at it.

But it will getr done.

i ran the drag mani on a d motor and made 400+ the mani is not as bad as peeps make it out to be, you will be fine. can more power be made with another mani? yes. will it work for what your goals are? yes. i ran a ssauto (tial knockoff) 38mm on mine. no creep, no spikes, held boost 100% like it should.

sufficent spring rate to boost pressure will suffice you thurst for whatever whp you want to hit 38MM will do good whatever you can afford will also work

manifold is the most important thing so its good you got a better manifold any pics of it?

the drag manifold will get you where you want, but if you swapped it with a nice tubular mani. your power gains will be alot bigger. btw a nice 38mm wastegate will be great.

if it comes with a 5,6,7psi spring and he wants more cant he just use a manual boost controler to get more boost?

Rule of thumb... you typically only can get 2x the wastegate spring pressure.

Run a 38mm at least.

ok..so 5psi spring would only be good to 10psi with the mbc?
why is this?

Was that with a turbonetics wastegate? The kind with the manual allen head screw you can definetely cheat.

There are ways to 'cheat' but the rule of thumb is 2x the wastegate spring pressure with a standard type of boost controller.

yea i was using an ssauto knockoff, 7psi spring, drag mani, t3/t4 57trim, on a sohc. also using a 2 stage boost controller...just a manual ball and spring boost controller with an electric solenoid at the "t" in between the wastegate and the mbc. no creeps, no spikes...held perfect.

Nice. All the things that everyone says will fail. When was full boost?
