Dammit and I just bought an SSautochrome turbo kit for my Dad's Bentley.

I'm so glad this sticky is here now, i've been wanting to find a way to take money away from that guy, read his ebay feedback he actually insults his customers on the regular. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

Re: (EnzoSpeed)

Ok well here are my inputs:

SSAC Old Style Manifold:
On my buddies Del Sol GSR Turbo it actually held up. To the day he sold it, i never saw it crack. Also so JDM S1eeper's manifold hold up also.

SSAC New Manifold:
I ran this manifold, it lasted about 4 days i believe and the wastegate flange seperated. I had all welds removed from the manifold and re-welded. We will see how this works out.

XS Power Turbo:
Well I am mixed, that same GSR Turbo Del Sol and JDM S1eeper both have had good expirience with these turbo's but they broke theirs in also, my turbo i didnt break in, and i also had excessive crankcase pressure from 2 blown oil rings which i believe didnt allow the turbo to let the oil return to the oil pan as freely as it should have.

OBX LSD:
Well i am the guy who owns the diff JDM S1eeper spoke of, and while alot of people have the axle sticking and fucking their shit up problems, mine stuck, but the reasoning doesnt seem to stay in line with that of other peoples problems. i had the driver side axle literally twist inside the 1/2 shaft. But Advanced Autoparts replaced the axle for free, so i am good.

OBX Headers:
Well back when i was NA, i ran one of these, and i had absolutly no complaints. It seems they did a good job on all the Honda headers but all other applications went to shit. But in my expirience they did good.

lol, i think it twisded during our test on how decent the dif was. After "several" 7,100 revlimit launchs on 22x8x13 w/ lenso's pulling 1.6 almost, 1.7s. That may of resulted in the twist, hehe... but the pass. side axle did get snagged in there. It was from the clip holding it in too well. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif So far TurboEH2's diff has worked well https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

oh yeah, i have 2 more reviews.

D series OBX oil pan, I had this on my first sohc turbo setup back in 02'. This pan looked hella bling but it didnt come with a oil pick up. (was supposed to) I called OBX and they had one shipped next day air. So customer service was great. I went to install the oil pan and it didnt fit wortha pooh. Bitch wouldnt fit at all... returned it and got a refund

B series OBX oil pan, I'm currently running one of these on my Built LS setup. The pan looks just like the moroso on my buddy's race engine, great looking part. One thing though, you need to make sure you seal all gaskets and fittings or it will have leaks. Funny thing is the moroso on my buddy's, leaks the exact same. If you get one of these, like i said. Seal all fittings and gaskets. Oh yeah, this oil pan came with a oil pick up, no fitment problems either.

First off, to everyone. sorry I keep on reposting.
But here i go..

I just read your 2 links,

About the OBX fuel rail

So first off, the fuel inlet fitting broke off. Just look at it - look how off center the bore is - no wonder it broke. And the fitting isn't even stainless steel. It's electroplated brass.

First of all... I feel you... BUT, how did it break? Accidents happen, shit I broke my InlinePro fuel rail the "exact" same way. And about the inlet nipple. What about stainless? Most inlet nipples Ive seen are made out of some sort of alluminum or brass. For example, My inlinepro nipple was made of an alluminum just like the obx peice. Main thing is, Don't beat the rail around lookin for something wrong with it. Its made to supply fuel to the injectors, not as a baseball bat. Your right thou, it shouldnt have broken easy (did it?) You should have asked for a replacement nipple. I'm sure they would have sent you one. Like i said, this same thing happend on my inlinepro rail, I didnt bash them. Just told stan what happend and he was surprized but gave me a new one to replace it. (good guy)

The rail doesnt have to have a perfect, expencive style painjob. Like you said it isnt like an AEM, because you hit it on the head, it "isnt" an aem, its an OBX. Aftermarket fuelrails are all overkill bling peices anyways, that rail is "MORE" than capible of supplying 43.5psi - 70psi of rail pressure to your injectors. What was wrong with it? was it scared? damaged? If so i would have returnd it or asked for a new one. If not then why say its made of a sodacan? Alluminum is alluminum, it doesnt have to be titanim, stainless, gold or platinum. Your wrong, I dont think they make the rails from "crap" that would stink.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

LOL, you paid $10 for it and you'd rather have an overpriced one w/ a sticker? Id return the AEM, make the OBX work, or resell it to a ricer and use that nice chunk of change on a tune, gas money, vacation, porn. Something more useful. I've seen A LOT of setups running stock rails w/ 600+whp cars. Rails are for bling in normal applications. (yea i got the inlinepro for bling https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif But ended up selling it and went Uberdata w/ cash to spare)

Cliff Note: This can happen to any rail company's rail. Just be careful when installing. Sorry about your luck

------------

About the obx header
I wont say anything about the OBX header deal, that sucks dude. I wouldnt of waisted my time modding it. They have a number, next time use it. I would have returned it w/o thinking about it. Sorry about yout luck on that header bro.

my friend (a member of this forum) has used ssautochrome in his shops.. he said it's junk, but get's the job done.. and what's sad is one of his turbo SOHC coupes with ssautochrome junk beat my built ls vtec integra.. lol...
and their shop car, an 11 second crx.. is all ebay/ssautochrome parts.. i heard the "XS POWER" shit is the new stuff, basically the same company with a new and better fabricator.. so i dunno, i've seen all the ssautochrome shit in his shop car, and the coupe.. and i've been in the shop car, and their both daily drivers are are fucking neck breaking.. has anyone had experience with the COMPLETE turbo kit?

The XS Power is basically the same company, most of their turbos rock XS POWER on the compressor housing. Other then that its still SSAC.

werd, i know their the same company.. i just heard that their reinforcing their shit now.. and that they have a lifetime warrenty on their manifolds so every week you break one they'll send one out the week before so you get it the exact day the other one breaks https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

no problems with that, but people should know better than to buy things like a manifold and a turbo from them. there has been like 8798759875 posts about them breaking. no need to ask if its ok to buy them.

my review of OBX B5 mufflers (N1 style)

2.25 inlet, 3.5 tip

i had this muffler on my car for about good 3-4 years. never had any problems or issues. but then again, how can you go wrong with a universal muffler?

well, i've seen my friend's HKS muffler's inner core (insulation?) slowly but surely squeeze thru broken weld inside the muffler.

noticed good gains, not as loud nor was it ricey sounding at all. it was just really deep, deep, boomy sound. none of the rattling/bleeping sound up top either.

so much better than megan N1 style muffler that my friend bought.

anyone have any issues with the OBX turbo manifolds?

Re: Re: (itslogics)

well i like ssautochrome manifold it has done me good. I'm trapping 131 mph in the 1/4 on it. I must say they have always done me right. And all the cars we have at our shop. I've been 11.5 on that manifold on low boost. I've been running 22 psi for a few months now. Then i had a sleeve crack on my b series motor. As soon as my gsr gets back from machine shop I will be putting my ssautochrome manifold back on and be back hopefully hitting a 10 second pass finally. The manifold are holding up daily driven on 15 psi...Just my experience guys...

Marshall 08-02-2005 09:22 AM

I've also had good experience with the chinese (don't know brands) wastegates and intercoolers. I don't have the confidence in them to sell to a customer, but on my own cars where I can fix any problems that arise, they're fine.

Re: (92JDMH22Prelude)

I've been running my SSAC manifold for over a year now without any problems other than a warped flange when I got it. I sanded that down and it has worked great for me since. I do have a support holding the turbo up coming from the block though. All in all, I'm still quite happy with it.

I dont have any other the parts now but I bought a header from ssautochrome for my tiburon years ago. Total piece of junk. Welds cracked in no time. Only good thing is I ended up getting my money back by selling it. Stay away like they all say

Re: (Bms212)

i have mixed thoughts, i purchased a manifold and wastegate last year. wastegate works great, but the manifold has craked three times, and not the welds, the actual metal is cracking. the guy that has been welding it has been a welder for about 40 years so he knows what hes doing. now i think im just looking for a replacment. hopefully i wont have to change any piping. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif
