Can you guys please tell me how i can get more power

Had the car dyno'd and tuned but only got 200bhp at the flywheel
My setup is a stock B16A1 engine, revhard 2C kit, intank 255 pump, 450cc DSM injectors, MSD BTM, B&M FPR, 2.5" down pipe to stock cat and mid pipe to 2.5" custom made back box (Apex-i N1 muffler) running at 9psi

I would like to know what i can do to make more power, how much more power, and good and bad points for the mods.

open to any answers apart from SEARCH cos i did it and never got any good answers

Some work to the head?

Port Flow inner valve springs
ITR outer valve springs
GSR camshafts

If possible get rid of your cat.

How did you not find any good answers? Search for:

Standalone (hondata, AEM, haltech)
3in exhaust

That should help.

 

I could take out my cat cos i dont need it tested.
what sort of power will a standalone give me???

You could build the bottom end.... but before I'd do that I'd just get a b18b block or b18c and start playing with that. The B16 block is tireddddd

 

wait, is it just me or is 200 at the flywheel kinda low for a 9psi drag b16? i think you mean at the wheels, or at least i hope u do. seen some boosted sohcs make about the same power with 10-11 psi. who tuned ur car?

 

200hp is love for the kit..

post your dyno graph ... i smell a problem

have you done a compression test lately?? 200 at the flywheel is not real high. id like to see a dyno sheet also

that's what i was thinking too

 

I may found the problem!!!
I did a compression test and it's a little low
190-180-180-190
I'll post the dyno sheets tomorrow cos i got to scan them.
But I've taken the cat out and thats made a bit of gain (I think)
The cat was clogged to s**t with carbon.

190 or 180 is not low for a compression test

Not much something like 5deg because of the msd btm.

If I take of the btm how much should i retard the timing frim stock

 

I can tell you two things that will help you make closer to 250-280whp @ 9psi...

Hondata and Dyno Tuning
&
3" DP, TP, and Exhaust.

I'm looking at your setup, and something is definately wrong with that. I've seen people make alot more power then that w/ the same mods. There is sometihng wrong, so I suggest you get the above two mods, and go back to the dyno (perhaps to a better tuner), and have them look at it, and work out the bugs. don't settle for less then 250whp at 9psi!
