I have heard that the kit for a 1.8 VW works.I got the part # and went and purchased them.When I thread them all the way into the block they do not come all the way out of the head so I can't get the nut started.Is it ok if you don't bottom out the stud so that I can get enough thread through the head?

how much does it thread into the block? Aslo, how high does it have to go?

 

If I thread them in 3/4 of an inch that gives me enough up top.But I was worried if the studs weren't tight and just floating that it would cause a problem.
