stock for stock this is true. just in terms of a modded heads. sorry </TD></TR></TABLE>

A SOHC VTEC and non-VTEC will have about the same potential in flow. Where the SOHC non-VTEC will shine is the fact that it has less rotational weight and frictional losses.

[QUOTE=HyptCvc_]I have a question for you..... I have a d16y8 with a crower stage 2 cam with springs/retainers, tuned with obd1 conversion and also have a jdm d15b tranny. My times on the track before were mid 15's and now I'm at high 15's with this tranny swap. My other tranny blew so this one had to do. Do any of you think this tranny is slowing me down. I've dyno'd at 160whp all NA. And when I hit mid 15's my head was stock with a obd2. Any suggestions? Sorry if I am hi-jacking, just curious....Just not sure of possible restrictions...

what tranny did you have before ?

yeah thats why you are slower. longer geared transmission
the EX tranny that came with your car im assuming is the best one that you could have had in it.

3rd at 102 isn't that long man.

i have a y8/ex tranny, it's the shortest dseries tranny you can get,
and I can get up to 110 in 3rd gear.

havent taken it to the top of 4th yet.. ..

..wow, who knew i was so responsible!! heh.

to 110mph!!!!

Damn, well i just put in my ecu w/ a chip, but 102 was at 7000, now i can take it to 8500, so.... it goes farther

My concern is really if this trans is a actual problem cuz i've upped my previous whp and my times went down, and im not losing traction. My trap speed before was 89-91mph, now its 85mph. Im just confused with this whole ordeal and I figured you guys know what ur talking about. Thanks

thats what im most likely gonna do, thanx for 2nd opinion guys, sorry again if i hi-jacked......
Do any of you have any experience with single crankpulleys if the will give good rotational speed, probably might help ease up from the long geared tranny....
head is pretty much built, but bottom end is stock

I'm getting the y7 block on Tuesday w0ot. I didnt know that if you put a y8 head gasket on it and then a z6 head it would bump the compression up to 9.8 wow thats a nice gain from 9.4. 6 lbs of boost then 9.8 compression should be a very large improvement from a turbo d15B with 9.3.

thanks for all the help everyone
