Default VTEC Turbo or None VTEC

What is better for Turbo Application?

SOHC DX motor (no vtec)
--or--
SOHC EX motor (vtec)
--or--
DX Block w/ EX head

I can get all the parts for relatively cheap... so basically im asking how to make the optimum SOHC Turbo Setup.. let me know, tell me what pistons i can use too. I heard that ZC pistons are good. Also, how much boost can this setup handle daily?

Really? I heard VTEC motors are usualy higher compression and have valve overlap which is poor for boost. Maybe I am totally wrong, but I was told by someone that no VTEC is optimal for Boost, but then again it seems like everyone running Boost here has an EX motor... hmm???

I would think the overlap part is true but i don't think it would be that big a difference when comparing sohc vtec vs sohc non vtec. Also as far as I know the compression ratios are the same between sohc vtec vs sohc non vtec.

heard the same, but also heard that vtec helps spool whine up faster...

so, should i take the SOHC-No-VTEC out of my EK... or just do the mini me swap... the plan is for a low 13 sec turbo.
