Vtec Problem Recently Tuned
Hey i have 94 turbo gsr recently street tuned on crome. In 1st gear everything is smooth but 2nd and beyond when vtec is suppose to kick it boggs/ hesitates then pulls normally where do i start to diagnose something like this?
Boggs about 4.5 this is in 2nd gear

I dont think its a gear dependant issue. I think the rpm sweep is too fast in 1st for it to become apparent. This is clearly a tuning issue.
Is 4500 where you have vtec set to engage?
Whats the AFR and timing around the vtec engagement rpm rows? - both high and low cam tables. Look for big jumps or drops in timing around this area.
Try disabling vtec or moving the engagment higher say 6k to see if the hesitation follows.
Whats your log show during this event? Look for a big change in AFR when vtec engages.
