Vtec Head or Build Up Ls Head
Im going to be running around 10 psi on a built LS for a while and I was debating on what I should do to the head. Should I spend $600 on a vtec head which will remain stock. Or should I spend $600 towards a port/polish, crower oversized valves, duel valve springs, and titanium retainers? Which will net me more hp?
Another question- How high do you recommend me revving my engine to with the LS setup I listed above on stock cams.

just p/p the stock head and get a stronger valvetrain. If you put a vtec head on your also gonna have to get a gsr ecu which is upwards around $300. Also without building your bottom end your just asking for trouble doing a half assed ls/vtec.
I dont plan on revving it higher than 7k until I do the bottom end. I will be going with eagle rods and 9.1 compression rollerwaves probably. I think that will be sufficient.

I agree with pureteg, p/p the LS head, build up the valve train and run some turbo cams... You will alot better off for the same price of "half ***" LS/vtec
Somehow my adjustable cam gear bolts stripped which in turn retarded my intake and exhaust cam 20 degrees and bent all 16 valves.
So either way I need a new head or new valves. Why not some nice stainless steel ones that are 1mm oversized?
