Vortech CAN be fast...
And I can say that it was hooking a lot better than before. So much better I can now proudly say i'm happy with my times, no doubt about it...
Anyhow i'll cut to the chase... I didnt have a single glitch tonight (except it didnt want to start after I parked it to cool off and swap the slicks on, but I figured that out) and it ran real strong. Before going to the track I changed the cam gears to +2, +2 which is my 0, 0 since the head and block have been milled a bit. Anyway it didnt seem stronger with that change but my butt dyno isnt THAT accurate, and I had the slicks, tools and jack in the trunk when I was goofing around on the way to the track to see if it did feel better or not. Anyhow, nuff said...
My runs in no special order:
First run of the night, felt good, turns out it was my best run to date...
R/T | 0.709
60' | 1.904
330' | 5.425
1/8 | 8.273
1/8 MPH | 86.91
1000' | 10.721
1/4 | 12.779
MPH | 108.01
But my new "best time" didnt last long...
R/T | 0.752
60' | 1.877
330' | 5.333
1/8 | 8.165
1/8 MPH | 87.62
1000' | 10.594
1/4 | 12.640
MPH | 108.44
Uh yea, neither did that one...
R/T | 0.813
60' | 1.799
330' | 5.200
1/8 | 8.025
1/8 MPH | 87.80
1000' | 10.448
1/4 | 12.484
MPH | 109.11
Um, yea so like it seems the more runs I get the better the **** is off the line, the better my times get!
R/T | 0.803
60' | 1.767
330' | 5.150
1/8 | 7.961
1/8 MPH | 88.02
1000' | 10.387
1/4 | 12.423
MPH | 109.19
So anyhow, it ran like a champ and only got better as the night went on. Not only that, I was running on a FULL TANK of 91 octane and had the full interior in still. (where as my previous 12.8 run last year was with about 3 gal of gas and with no front seat.) A few more runs and a little more tweaking I dont doubt it could pull 12.2's or so... Yea, who wants a piece of this Vortech now! :D
Edit: I'd like to thank Exospeed for the hookup on the M&H (Ok, I paid full price, but where else can you get M&H slicks on short notice?) and Weld Wheels for making these bad *** Draglites!

I wont deny that, but how many low 12 second supercharged Civics do you see in full factory interior, daily driven, pump gas that can pull times like that without pulling a bunch of **** out, changing anything with the suspension or even running race gas. Hell, I even had a full tank of gas when i ran tonight. (No ****, it only had 20 miles on the tank of gas when I got to the track and I filled it to the top on Monday.)
My point is to be different but still pull impressive times with a street driven, 100% stock looking car that ISNT turbocharged and doesnt use funny gas. (Other than the exhaust tip, tinted windows and lowered stance, it looks bone stock from the exterior.)

Re: Vortech CAN be fast... (ClubSiRacer)
You could be in the 11's with 350whp even though you are a full interior coupe.
Go back to the track a few more times.

C'mon now Jason. I wouldn't be so cocky with a built motor and 12.4's. You know what the car could run if it was "done right" Either way, good times....for a supercharger...

Couple questions. How man psi? Aftercooled? What are you using to tune? Does the Vortech drive assemble run off of the power steering pump? Thanks.

Hey are you the one that did that 50-145mph vid?
I got that saved to my HD. Every time it shifts I can almost feel the power. Good ****

Re: Vortech CAN be fast... (KCHybrid)
great times man, glad you are happy. Oh yeah I read a earlier post about you having problems with traction off the line. What size slick did you end up going with?
