Does anyone make the Vitara Pistons in a 76mm overbore I would like to see how they do on my D17 turbo project.

They also don't make them for the D16.
People just use them as is.
You'll have to figure out what comp. ratio it will be in your engine.

Do you know who makes the 76mm vitaras as the second guy stated they're a Suzuki Pistion I know the application is made specifically for Honda's now but originally they're an OEM Suzuki Piston for the Vitara and people used them in their Honda because of the bore size. Catch my drift...anyone?

Vitaras are a pretty well established idea in the Honda Forced Induction world. Search the forum for "Vitara" and you should get a decent amount of results.

I am not sure about 76mm Vitaras, but do know that there are 75.5mm versions available.

Also, a user on here (or on HMT) "FJT" is probably going to be your best bet on what is available for Vitara products. I believe he now even offers a custom rod with a longer BE dimension to correct the combustion height in some blocks.

Good luck and post up numbers!

Craig

Hi Guys..

Yes they come in 76mm bore..

The Forged rods we designed are specifically to run the Vtara into the D16 and also the JDM D15 Vtec engines.

I dont know if these rods will work on the D17

What makes the vitara's so good for boost on the D16? I have been under the impression that it was just because of the lower CR that they worked well. With the longer rods getting them closer to deck height, and people still making power, that leads me to believe im wrong. Can someone give me some info on these?

ive been having those same thoughts.... but ive already purchased the rods and pistons, and the block is in the machine shop. so i guess im the guinea pig lol

some of the benefits of the vitara piston are still a large dish for lower comp
additional oiling holes
Teflon coating

the cast is diffrent from honda too, the are "semi forged" if we can sa that. stock sleve plus custom rod+vitara pistons from fjt is able to take up to 400whp "safely"
