visit to Area 51
I toke these pictures before heading out to the hot import nights 5 year aniversary bash . The shop is very large the workers are very helpful and they are deffinetly top notch having the likes of Dr.Charles of past Atomic fame . Side note all you kiwi turbo manifold fans kiwi didnt stop making manifolds or close down they are still available and Area 51 can get them for you just ask for Robbie when you call (949)472-6320 . one of the intresting things that i saw on my visit is the transplant they were doing in the far back corner of there r&d section it was a 99 hb with rsx type R motor going in . Area 51 has made it a complete bolt in affair with there custom motor mount kit that will be available soon , 92-95 owners the mounts will follow shortly after the 96 up has been realeased . I really couldnt get a good pic as they didnt want me to take to many pics of it , but they did let me look at it up close and this is a great piece of engineering . Hopefully you guys enjoy the pics H.I.N pics up later today .

Any shop that has a person like Dr. Charles working there would be a shop that I would not recomend. He drove atomic into the ground by being shady as well as stealing parts from customers. I have also witnessed him taking customers cars to the street races.

Area 51 is not owned or operated by Charles, He is the Head of our racing research and development... Just to let everyone know we have a great reputation within the Industry. We do lots of work for many OE Car Manufactures, as well as many American and Japanese based companys. There are many people that will vouch for our credibility as a respectable high performance tuner shop as well as a fabrication shop. I dont think you should judge our shop on one member of the staff from their actions in the past.
You can take a look at more pics of our shop at: http://www.speedoptions.com/features...p?id=60&y=2002

Re: visit to Area 51 (hybridturbo89)
I have also heard many good things about Area 51. I have also seen your work as well and think highly of it. I have just had bad experiences with Charles as well as many other people I know. I realize that Charles does not own the place as you have been open since he was the guy at atomic. He might be really good at working on Hondas, but as far as him as a person, I dont think much. Anyone who would take a customers car to the street races and risk losing it...thats not someone I would like to deal with if I were a customer. Also...I know for a fact there was a theif ring going around at atomic and thats not something I would like to deal with thinking about if I were a customer. What I am posting is not in anyway slandering Area 51. I am just warning the people about someone who works there from past experiences.

Re: visit to Area 51 (bambooluv)
FWIW the kiwi manifold on gary gardella's car cracked twice, and the runners on cyls 2 and 3 make very sharp, abrupt turns, causing hot spots to exist. Ill take a picture of the manifold for anyone interested in kiwi manifolds... he has long since switched over.
kiwi manifolds are not all that they are cracked up to be. however dees manifold is the nicest kiwi i have seen.

Re: visit to Area 51 (vtecvoodoo)
well heres the story all the manifolds are made to order so they really dont have them in stock but the retail going price is anywhere from 1100-1400 depending on car and street strip models ask for robbie when asking for this or Dr. Charles-Pdang
