I live in the dominican republic and Frank Smith comes here a lot to tune cars in the local dino, he also runs in the local races in a his camaro that does 8.4segs or so, he is a very frendly person, he has tuned very impresive cars here in my country.

Nice vids. Do you have the dyno graph? Still on stock internals right? That's hella good for a SOHC, 214whp at 9psi.

Hey, whatever happened to Nick. I heard he sold his geezer.

Yep, Nick sold the geeser!! I got to see his new ride though, a '02 Passat 1.8T, beautiful car for sure, was really diggin the ineterior. You should see the turbo on that thing though.. size of a walnut! lol..

I have the dyno plot at home, I'll try to get it scanned tonight, and yea 100% stock motor

Your not one to talk about small turbo's..
You need to get a t3/t4 on there, that would be sweet. How much did Frank rape you to tune the Hondata? I went over there once and I asked him how much to tune my friends turbo teg with a 3b, he told me $500 just for tuning. I nearly cried as I laughed my way back to my car. We're just gonna take the car to Lujan and tune it ourselves, it's really easy, we've been street tuning with it and a friends borrowed rom burner...

Well like I said before, I had an 8:30 appointment, which is what pissed me off since they didn't touch my car (other than to strap it to the dyno) till 1:30. From the time he started to finish, it was a good 4 hours, with me standing there filiming most of the time heh.

It was $500 for the tuning, expensive yes I know, but locally I don't really trust anybody but Frank. yea everybody knows somebody's cousin's, unles, sisters, boyfriend's, roomate who does Hondata tuning etc.. but I'd rather pay for peice of mind knowing this guy has an *** load of built/tuned motor under his belt you know? I tell you what though, after sitting there and watching him do the work, I can see why they charge so much cause that's alot of back and forth with the Hondata and the dyno.. over 90 pulls he took yesterday on my car alone!

A '02 passat 1.8T. Now you can pull on him without a worry as he pulled on you when he still got his geezer. How ironic.

avc-r... hondata doesnt control boost. if its a vafc (which i doubt because i think he puts the vafc near his ebrake) he would need it to drive to the tuning place to idle his 450cc injectors correctly. im guessing they removed the vafc or set it back to neutral settings while they tuned.

90 dyno pulls? how much time did your car have to cool down between runs, like 3 minutes?

Good job David.
By the way if you're not going to use that V-AFC. Send it my way, or at least hold it for me until I have the turbo parts and such together. Also, the settings u used for the vafc would come in handy once I have the 450's on there too.

1 laptop was Hondata, the other was the dyno feedback. 1 Hondata was his 3B, the other my 2B. The ECU on the floor opend is my P28, my P2P was still bolted to the frame at the time.
