Videos of GSR-T dyno 11/11/03- South Florida Performance
Just thought I'd share a few of the dyno pulls I caught on video from Tuesday 11/11/03 of my '99 GSR-T being tuned on Hondata at SFP by the man himself, Frank. Details from the day are here:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=675098
But just as a quick stat on the car, it's a stock B18C1 w/ most of a Revhard kit and a Garrett/Turbonetics hybrid T3/T04E 60-trim .63 A/R. All pulls were done at 6psi, limited there by my severley broken rear mount. Once the mounts are replaced and I get a new tranny (...no 4th gear ) she goes back for a polishing of the maps and some time on the rollers at 10psi.
Without further adue.....

One of the first pulls..

Cleaning up the map..

Almost there...
http://makuragi.s5.com/videos/...4.WMV
Final run!
She put down 244.1whp & 168.9wtq when all was done.. the rest to come soon!
BTW, FstBlkGti wanted to call my car gay because of the fruity GReddy Type S BOV

..I got him back

i'm a tard? vtc was the first one to call it gay. its just the BOV that every kid buys when he gets a turbo and i'm sick of hearing 10 different ones everyday.

Re: (Tofurky)
Looks like you could pick up some power in midrange by moving vtec, see the huge dip? Also looks like you could even the graph out overall some so that it it mosre of a straight line. Edit: just clicked over to the other link. I think you could run some more timing at that boost level, up around 20 at least. I'm at 27.5 at 9lbs of boost, but my motor is built.

that is the problem, frank likes to keep things conservative. he doesnt like to push the motor when he doesnt have to.

Exactly, but Frank makes an excellent point. Sure I could gain a few hp by pushing mroe timing on the top side, but the increase in cylinder pressure is also stressting the piston/ring lands that much more.. so really you have to decide if it's worth a few extra hp or not. Bottom line is, considering the experience and skill he's got under his belt, if he feels 18/19* is enough, then I'm all for it. Besides, 244 @ only 6psi isn't so bad that I need to bump the timing for a few more ponies either

nice vids.....i was wondering about the smoke as well. It seem really rich at the top, but it's suppose to be from blowing up shizzle. Good job though

not in my case.. my power is increasing all the way to the redline.. close to 9K.. at 260whp its running just fine.. if i'm to run 360whp.. which i guess that turbo might handle.. then i won't have efficient top end.. but i calculated that turbo to be efficient for mid-high 200's with best of response.. homework paid off.
