Whelp, at least you're staying with the magnaflow, and not that Vibrant nonsense. They still sound like ***, and yes, in a general "ricer" sense of the word, too.

I'm still old , using my Older N1 3" Apex'i inlet. (Which is new since I replaced it last year).

I have a oem internal b20z/vtec that use to have a oem type r header, 24" magnaflow resonator(round muffler), dynomax chambered muffler and its a full 2.5" exhaust mandrel bends. It sounded quiet and deep at idle and cruising(part throttle). Under normal acceleration to get up to cruising speed it had some rasp and under full throttle it quite a bit of rasp. Took off dynomax muffler and put in vibrant 2.5" black stealth muffler and it took away the normal aceleration rasp and almost all the full throttle rasp, and it has a more aggresive deeper tone. I know the magnaflow straight through style muffler sounds good. Soo i might do a future video sound test of the vibrant stealth vs straight through magnaflow.

I enjoyed my exhaust system when I was daily driving my car. It was a very deep tone and not loud at all. In fact the exhaust wasn't any louder when boosting vs regular driving. Only the dump tube made the car louder which I didn't mind. Keller 3" tubing with magnaflow 18" x 5" round muffler in the mid pipe and a magnaflow 24" oval muffler in the rear. Both mufflers were straight through

Truth hurts...

The Vibrant I had had raised louvered twists inside the chamber... I still don't understand how this conversation is still going on. It all boils down to setup. I have heard Flowmasters sound like crap as well as Borla and others when slapped on these cars. It all depends on the entire setup as a whole...

Here is a video of the vibrant stealth muffler, magnaflow 18' or 24' resonator(i cant remember), oem type r header, and its a 2.5" mandrel exhaust. i thought i had a video of my car on the dyno when i had the chambered dynomax muffler. but like i said, i may try a magnaflow straight through to se what it sounds like compared to the vibrant strealth. But as of now if you've seen my recent updates on my setup, i no longer have a exhaust on my car.

I ran straight 3" on my setup and thought it was monstrously loud (this coming from a guy who works on a base with F16's doing touch and go's every day).

I slapped a 3" Vibrant flat black muffler on the end and don't see myself changing it again anytime soon. Then again, I rarely rev above 6,500rpm.

Quick walk-around just at idle

here's mine with a vibrant ultra quiet resonator. mods are in the vid.

it can drone pretty bad at certain rpm's and if i'm always on and off the throttle like city driving. but on the highway with constant throttle position it's actually pretty damn quiet.

They all sound pretty good in my book. I'll have to post some of the Magna-flow when I have it installed

Do you have a resonator installed? or just the muffler at rear?

I have the same Exhaust as Turbo-Ls pretty much...Had 3" Kellter Stainless tubing, with there 18" resonator in mid pipe(magnaflow im assuming) and i bought the apexi World sport 2 turbo muffer ( pricey) 3" inlet. I love the way it sounds. I wanted it to be quiet as possible without hurting performance ( recirculated dump as well). It's all straight thru design, had everything Tig'd welded together. I think your muffler choice is good for the sleeper look, not a ton of options in that case.

Im running a VRS 3in exhaust with no cat or resonator. with a Stealth vibrant muffler. I love mine. Even in VA i never get pulled over for it. (which means a lot cause VA cops are dicks about imports and exhaust)

I run this exact muffler on my prelude, rest of exhaust is a 3" striaght, no other resonators etc.

Pretty loud. But not obnoxious, and sounds decent. Better than those canister style POS mufflers all the riceboys have. You won't get a lot of fart-can-ness since you're turbo'd. Not sure how it sounds w/o turbo, don't really care.

I've noticed turbo size and manifold type seems to affect sound. I went from a mini-EQ style manifold to a full race top mount, as well as a larger turbine and the sound has changed pretty significantly. Seems to have gotten deeper. I agree this is all silly without sound clips.

Here's a crappy cell phone video, my car isn't tuned yet so this was just me being excited I got it running again. Whenever Ben decides to finish his dyno move I'll have a better video.
