The FI forum is the most useful, knowledge filled forum on HT. I've been reading HT for almost a year, well before I created a username and only recently have begun posting(mostly for classifieds)... I've browsed the accord, prelude, and integra forums for some time and have found that 1. the accord forum is mostly useless (always talk of wings and kits) except for very few users that are knowledgable and most of them have either the h22 in some form or FI on the sohc. 2. the prelude forum is populated by 90% people looking to learn how to set the cam gears to go w/ their i/h/e after 2 years and 10% 4thgen track racers that run w/ ITRs week in, week out 3. the integra forum has the same as the others but it also benefits from all the ls/vtec, FI and civics w/ crazy b18 setups that post... but the FI forum has by far the most knowledgable and helpful posts, much from the contribution of all the long time boostheads (1000+ posts, turbomafia soldiers, etc...) helping to fix everyone's fuel/boost woes. I only hope that one day after I get my mech. cert and my mech eng degree that I can start contributing... its really late for me so this prob doesnt make any sense but the point is, you guys are great... I'm gonna stay at the FI forum

Hey guys...

I'm also very much the new guy around here and I must say that I love it!!! Any time of the day that I'm bored or have time on my hands I sign on to HT and start reading. I also like most of you just read through the FI forum for about 6 months before I got my sign in name and started asking questions.

I also would like to take this opportunity and thank all the guys that have helped me answer my questions for the time that I have been here. And also want to thank the moderators MarkC, Arturbo for making this whole thing happen.
Now I can truly say that I learn something new everyday!!

But there is seriously a need of more people using the https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch option that works very well and that will save you time in typing that long question that has been covered about 13 other times in the past month. Sorry if I come of as being erigant but I just think that this is the truth.

And than we have all these S*itheads that talk s*it out of their *** just to **** somebody off. (The whole Headgasket deal)
I just think if you don't beleive in the product, don't buy it.

Again I love this forum and would hate to loose it or see it go to s*it so guys please be reasonable about what you ask and start fights with cause that s*it just ain't cool......

My 0.2 cents......

I have a lot of repsect for many on this forum. You guys have helped me consideralby when I didn't really know where esle to turn and I am greatful for that. Im kindof in the middle where I've learned some stuff (been at it for about a year) but realize theres a hell of a lot more to learn. For every ten minutes I have spent typing I have spent an hour reading.

To me, one of the most important things is to be able to treat each other with considertation and respect. Some people just seem to like to argue and start negative stuff. I simply do my best to avoid them rather than try to change them, as they generally dont want to change and think you're the problem. Fine, let them think that. Reply to quality topics and serious questions and leave the rest alone, it will have its own life that doesnt involve me, or my stress or anxiety.

I was told something once that still rings truth today, "David, you treat everyone with love and respect, wheter or not you love or respect them...and you do that for yourself." While at times I find that very hard to do, I still think it was excellent advice...when I practice it I am a lot more at peace with myself and others...even the ********.

It used to be eveytime their was an ******* in the room I'd get triggered by them or have to respond...like to "set them stright" or something. Its growth in me where today I can just let ******** be ******** and focus on developing quality relationships with quality people, a lot of whom are on this board.

And agian, I really do appreaciate the help and knowledge. Sorry if I have ever been a part of the problem, but that is also how we learn. May we at least be quicker to recognize it and DO something about it.

Thought for the day: Don't get triggered by the ********

I have been posting here for a little while and have met some really good friends off of here. I live in an area with no import shop and no one to tune Honda's. I basically depend on H-T to be my backbone. With the help of Art, Stan, Mark, Dustin, Josh, John, and others I am actually the guy others depend on im my area for tech questions. Hell I talk to Chris (direp972) pretty much everyday and I can honestly say he is one of my great friends and we have never even met. I mean look at this weekend, I thought I was gonna be stranded in Houston and I called Josh (boosted3g) who I had never met before and told him my problem and he helped me fix it on the phone. My friend that was with me was amazed at that. The only way I could describe it was to compare it to a family. I view H-T as that. I cant wait to finally make it to frickin Dallas and meet so many of you guys!! Anyway I hope that this forum doesnt go to crap. I used to read boards all the time but Mark conviced me to actually post on this one cause it was different and it really was... I loved it.. I think i used the search feature on this board for like 4 months before I posted. It really works guys try it.. You will get MORE responses and also quicker!!

A lot of performance shops are out to make money, but who isnt. Any place you go to, any magazine you read is gonna tell you that you NEED this or you NEED that. Remember, magazines make money from the companys they adverstise for and they'll tell you the same thing.

art

its funny, you know, when i "defended" my set up on here about 1 year ago, those are the exact words i used.

things have changed on this site, and i have been pulled into some of these arguements lately. hell, the whole kills section has already fallen apart, i hope the forced induction forum doesn't follow.

there are still alot of people on this site with good ideas, good set ups, and the will to go faster. lets try not to **** with each other too much.

This site will go to **** over my dead body. Even tho I was mad some people left, we now need to focus on the next generation. We all start somewhere, and that somewhere is now. Im gonna be more strick on moving threads, so if you post something that doesnt pertain to FI or related to it, Im moving it to the right forum. Does this sound good everyone?

Lets move on!!

I really hope that H-T stays a good board. As was mentioned by others, this site is a pretty damn good reference tool for people who are inclined to do things like put a turbo on their car themselves, but have no access local help. I hope that when I get a turbo (crosses fingers) in the spring there will still be knowledable people around to help out if I have some problems.

Ya know Art, my posting has definately declined over the last few weeks. I couldn't tell if it was due to lack of interest, the fact that I hate my project, was preoccupied with other sites, or just lack of content. It's kinda all, but the content has definately diminished somewhat. When I first came here, I hardly responded at all, and everyone was respectful to each other, etc. Seems to be a lot of bickering and such now, and pissing contests. I sincerely hope the content improves around here. Hopefully we'll be able to attract our old user base back, and get some of the noobs inline. But I see this all the time....as a board gains in popularity, the truly useful people leave due to noobs and tudes. We'll see what happens as my project gets into high gear after the first of the year.

I think people get their feelings hurt too easily. Share knowledge, have fun, go fast. If everyone leaves then I'll have to try to answer everyone's questions... and you know we don't want that

Ya, I havent been here too long, but people should take the junk that gets posted with a grain of salt.
I think that lots people come here because of the focus on import cars lately, but that wont last forever either. It's just too bad most of that focus is hype and style instead of performance. You can always help people along, after all you learn pretty quick if you chose to....

Yes Art, could you puuuuuuuleaseee do that...

also, on those threads that come up over and over again, LOCK THEM, with instructions to do a search, read all available info FIRST, and then post a MEANINGFUL thread...this might help cut down some of the CRAP and get people thinking about posting quality issues and/or researching a bit first...

Remember: If nothing is done to put disruptive behavior in check, the disruptive behavior will continue. DO NOT wait for or expect it to go away on it's own...we need to SHAPE IT into what we want it to be...

For the bickerers and bitchers, warn em sooner and kick em out faster...let people know we're not gonna put up with that **** around here...they'll learn, believe me, or they'll be out and no longer a part of the problem.

Nothing wrong with taking some APPROPRIATE control so that those of us that value the HIGH QUALITY on this board continue to have a board of HIGH QUALITY.

AMEN!

PS - Art, one good thing about the Superhonda board (see URL below) is the FAQ section thats kept posted at the top. Note the three "stickies" at the top of the board that constantly stay there...thats a good idea to have FOR THIS BOARD and then we can send people there for reference who ask these more basic/simplier questions over and over and over and over and over again. Just a thought.
