Valvetrain work....
I was researching parts for my valvetrain...
'95 gsr with a drag gen 3 kit. Im planning on running maybe 11psi or so for now.
Im only inquiring about the setup of my head...not the fuel system, or the block...although I acknowldege their importance and I am not neglecting them at all, just trying to get input for the parts in the head.
I was thinking skunk2 retainers and ferrea valves. What springs should I get to eliminate any possible valve float? Would I need different cams other than my gsr ones?
Thanks...please, any input is nice
Sebastian
p.s. all these people keep telling me headwork is like 300 bucks. is that only like machine work? or parts included?

No reason in upgraded valvetrain for just a drag3 and 11psi, you must have bigger goals in mind. what cams do you plan on using? You should easily be able to make 300+hp on a stock head with the fuel system and proper tuning.

Re: Valvetrain work.... (Jared)
Just started researching this myself and I think im going with this setup from Portflow:
Type R outer springs
portflow inner springs
portflow titanium retainers
im going to upgrade to the black nitride valves later when I put a new P&P head. Upgrade I mentioned above w/o valves should be $340. http://www.portflow.com/frame.htm

Well I bent some exhaust valves, and so I was in the market and figured I might as well get stronger components.
Is it ok to run stock valves, just new springs? That way I guess I could save some loot and apply it to other areas...
Im not really totally sure to the origin of my bent valves, BUT when I started working on the car I noticed the electrical connector for the knock sensor had become unclipped??? I was doing in the neighborhood of the high 7000 rpm's with around 6 or so psi for about a minute.
If I got stock valves, isnt there a chance they will just bend again? Im not claiming any other valves to be bulletproof...but Im sure they are much better than stock, correct?
Thanks again
Sebastian
edit:
what cams do you plan on using?
