Default Valve lash question

If the valve lash was way off on a b16 turbo how much compression would you lose Alot, Alittle, ? any feedback or anyone have any experince with valve lash set too tight please feel free to post

well if it is tight, depending on how tight, it may hang the valve open. if let go too long, it will burn the valve. if it is loose, it would have to be really loose to affect compression.

thanks man acully its way to ******* tight, i wont metion any names but they got set at .001 on intake and exhaust instead of .006ish .007ish on exhaust im hoping this is the reason i have 130ish compression and only ran a 14.5 at 100mph with 9psi on a TO4e when last year i ran a 15.6 at 87mph stock b16

i do 0.007 on both sides. just lazy he hee. but yeah 0.001 is way too tight.

Yeah we wont mention any names mister i didnt read the complete paragraph in the honda building book

If the valve is open even a tiny bit you will have a very bad result from a compression test.

i always do .006 on intake and .007 on exhuast(tightest you can go) that way if your motor makes any noises then something is not right...

yea just set them to .007 today and is ticking like a **** compression went way up but its ticking BADD wasnt ticking before i adjusted them, so i tihnk i gots some problems

leak down, if it was tight you may have bent one.....worst case scenerio.

you probably have bent valve/s now... anyhow goodluck to you...

Yea sorry guys i screwed up cly 2n4 had them way loose my first valve lash job hehe but i just checked all of them and i realised what i did and Now shes purring like a kittin thanks everybody
