What kind and how much of vacuum line do I need to build a basic turbo kit? I need a rough amount of how much I would need as I dont have any at all. Is there a vacuum line kit that I can buy that will have all the lines I need? TIA!

that should be somewhere around #347 on your list of things to consider before getting a turbo kit.

 

maybe i wasnt clear on my post. im in a middle of building a custom kit (i already got a couple of the major components). ive been looking around hosetechniques.com and im confused with all the things they have to offer. im just wondering is there a certain diameter or material that the lines should be made of? (what am i supposed to be looking for?) and any estimates of the length of lines need would be helpful too.

 

Go buy ten feet at a parts store and it'll cost you $5, at the most, and it'll be more than you need. The diameter is whatever is needed to fit over what you're putting it on. There's nothing special about it, unless you wanna be show and get colored ****.

 

i just use 4mm ID hoses that i found at kragen. the ones that came w/ the kit collapsed on itself really easy, so i just thought $5 isnt much for peace of mind.
