uberteg ecu installed
A couple of days ago I installed my uberteg ecu along with my 440cc injectors. I started up the car and it idled rough at first. After the car warmed up it idled a lot better. It idles a little rough until the car warms up. After that it idles pretty good, not as good as stock but pretty good. Setup: 1994 b18b, uberteg ecu, 440cc, msd INLINE fuel pump, revhard manifold, garret t3/t4 turbo running 7 psi. The car feels quicker with this setup then before with the fmu, stock injectors setup and stock ecu. However, I've noticed that my egt gauge at redline in 3rd gear gets up to 800C. I thought this was a little high. When I was running the old setup the highest that my egt ever got was around 725-750C. I was thinking of hooking back up my fmu to increase the fuel pressure under boost. Would this be a good idea? Also my timing is retarded 2 degrees. I've read that retarding the timing too much can cause the egt gauge to read higher. I say this because the uberteg ecu retards the timing 1 degree for every pound of boost. I just want to make sure things are running good until I turn it up to 10 psi. Can this be done with stock fpr. Thanks

My probe is in the #3 runner. The only reason I kept the inline fuel pump is to make sure I'm getting enough fuel when I turn it up to 10 psi. I have it on a toggle switch, so I can turn it off and on. I have been running it, I just don't want to lean out.

To answer the retarded timing question, I'm not 100% sure on this one, but i believe it's right....
When you retard your timing too much, the gas explodes too late (on the down stroke) (not good)
1. That could increase the EGT temp. (I THINK, but not 100% sure if that makes a huge diff on the EGT temp.)
2. Can burn out your exhaust valves.

Ditch the inline fuel pump. that could cause you trouble in the long run. i ran UberTeg's chip with 450's and it did idle rough(really rich program) but once in boost...it was a kick **** experience!! i was only boosting 6 lbs and it was extreme for me! then something went wrong with my motor so i had to take off the turbo and now i'm running the same setup w/out the turbo and it runs strong still. except now i'm tuning my fuel curve with an AFC. you should sell the fmu and fuel pump and get an AFC as well, it really helps!!

Right now I'm not running the fmu. I have the inline pump on a switch so I can turn it off if I want. Can I run 10 psi on the stock fuel pump and stock fpr with my 440cc injectors? Also isn't 800C a little high? The only reason I was thinking of putting back the fmu was to increase the fuel pressure under boost for I don't lean out. If I was to run the S-AFC I wouldn't need to run the hack right? I could just hook it up like the instructions say? Thanks for all the replies.

forget about the hack. Just hook it up how the intructions says. The chip is doing the hacking for u already. I would also get a intank pump and ditch the inline even if u have switch for it. U really don't need it if your not using the fmu.

yup what he said also, you're safe using the stock fuelpump if you're not going to surpass your stock map limit. the DSMs with AFC should be able to provide enough fuel flow.

800degrees is fine. I believe the uberteg chip retards timing 1deg/psi of boost so ur EGT's are gonna be hotter then they were. You should put ur Ignition back to stock now w/ a timing light.

Re: uberteg ecu installed (Mr. Belding)
so if i run 10psi on my 98 ls motor with the uberteg chip, will i need to get bigger
injectors?
98b18b1
jrsc at 6psi....wanting to go to 10psi
walbro 255 fuel pump
aem fuel rail
4-1 kamikaze header
intake
2.25"piping
fpr
fuel pressure guage
a/f guage
boost/vacum guage
with what i have, can i just get the uberteg chip and up the boost to 10 psi, or should i still get some dsm 450 injectors with a resistor box?

Re: uberteg ecu installed (93hb)
You guys should really be using at least 440-450cc injectors, along with a high flow intank pump with the Uberchip. Stock FPR is fine, and I've been worried that the inline fuel pump may be increasing pressure so much that the stock FPR isn't flowing enough to regulate it well...just a hypothesis there.
I tell you what, my car started right up and ran like a mean **** when I first popped in the (then prototype) Uberchip. I had a Walbro intake 255lph std pressure and DSM 450cc squirters.
I would also suggest that you purchase the upgrade from Blake to get the ROM editor software. The software and a Batronix EEPROM burner is going to cost less than the AFC and is a much more ideal solution for tuning, assuming you have access to a dyno with wideband and either your or somebody you know can tune it.

It's kind of hard to get ahold of Uberteg now, cuz he's banned from H-T.

he's been doing the same crap on g2ic as well.
