Uberdata users check in here!

Re: Uberdata users check in here! (Rocks)
Works great. Shooting for 400whp on new SOHC turbo setup @ uberdata.
And there are a million and one problems with the software, listing them all would take days. You have to figure out which versions work with your ECU. My car runs on a P28 so the two versions I use are 1.70 and ost2.
Also, datalogging is a horrendous bitch to setup. If I were you I would buy the $35 cable from moates.net. It elimintates many of the variables that keep datalogging from working.

actaully setting up the datalogging cable isn't very hard at all. I bought a $10 nokia cable off ebay, soldered it in, plugged it up, and it worked great. You must have done something wrong.

Well sometimes the cables don't work (mine) and sometimes the drivers don't download right from pgmfi.
BTW, how come you didn't respond to my thread that was basically directed at you? Bitch

sorry man i haven't been in the datalogging section on the uber forum lately. I used the cable recommended by 93turbod16 and it worked flawlessly and even came with drivers. He sais he has used numerous cables like them and never had any problems.

Yeah, idle goes funky sometimes.
To answer your question, I tuned my own car. It's cake. You just need a wideband + ostrich, but it still comes out cheaper than paying a tuner. I can't answer PMs because I'm a newb

Here are a few problems, you can explore them further. Flucuating idle, little blips in the TPS, Ostrich works for most people, ost2 saves to big... just check out the uberdata site.
I have been using it forever, and have tuned many cars on it.. the more you do the more stuff you find. It is a great software, the link is in my sig for the site.

Re: Uberdata users check in here! (Rocks)
I have been experimenting with both Uberdata and Crome on my nearly stock Integra SE. I had no problem following the Uberdata instructions for making an LS base map and it runs great with no idle or performance issues. However, I have been unable to get a Crome chip to idle well on my car at all especially while cold. Normally the idle stays around 1500 - 2000 RPM and will sometimes fluctuate. I have tried both a stock LS P72 bin and made my own LS based P30 bin. I would have to say after looking at both so far that Uberdata would be the simpler choice.

Been using Uberdata since version 1.2. I've had every problem under the sun, most of them my own fault. In general the software works very well but it's not something you should try if you want to set-it-and-forget-it

Re: Uberdata users check in here! (raene)
currently using it on my second turbo setup.
first time around i had a problem with my chip burner, but that has since been repaired. i havent really had and serious running problems with it. my car runs smooth, starts up well and idles pretty normal for injectors 2x the size of stock. im running version 1.6666. i might upgrade to 1.7 and try to hook up the datalogging soon

i used cld on 1.666 and my car ran like complete crap, same setting and everything with 1.7, runs like a dream? I dunno. I am not a programmer and don't even try to be one, but 1.7 seems to work alot better than 1.66. imo

Re: Uberdata users check in here! (mattssi)
You have to tune in either case... can't just check the box By default the maps are very rich, and 1.70 seems to run leaner than 1.66, so it makes sense that it would run better in 1.70 with CL Disable checked.

Lol - I've got every version imaginable scattered all over my desktop. I don't even know the official names of some of them.

I only see disable o2 heater sensor. I'm not sure if that would do the same thing or not, but in 1.70 it has a check box for both. Anyways yea the car will run like complete **** if you don't tune the low vac maps after disabling closed loop. Most of the cars I tune seem to run between 10-12:1 through all the part throttle maps with closed loop disabled until i tune them.
