uberdata/datalogging.... HELP!!
I don't think I'm getting enough hits on the UB site...
Anyhow, I have been struggling to get the datalogging set up properly... It like I've been struggling for ages!!
Anyhow, the basics...
98 ls motor w/ a 92 ls ecu (p75)
running a stock LS bin (didn't change anything), burnt it directly.
nokia cell phone cable
i've tried... 2 different PL2303 (from two difference websites, that's what I mean)
check my soldering... good connections... soldered and resolded like 3 times...
ran with J12 connected and not connected...
change the com port to COM4, check others... nothing.
stock O2 sensor...
What I get is... 10.7 a/f, rpm of 317 that's it... flatlined...
do i need to burn the bin in close loop or open loop... anything special needed of the bin?
how do i check it there is a signal going through the datacable?
how do I check is the sofware/drivers is doing what it supposed to do?
any suggestions? i'm tired of searching... help.

Re: uberdata/datalogging.... HELP!! (Harassing Herbs)
and what of rpm, tps and all the other variables that can be extracted from the ecu. i think differently, and in fact UD has an option for "stock" O2 sensor.
but that's for replying, I was getting worried that no one was reading my posting... :-D

with the closed loop box checked the ecu will read from whatever you burned in the "chip" and Harassing Herbs is right. you need a wideband to datalog the A/F ratios. with the stock 02 sensor youll get garbage values.
oh and i just realized i didnt even answer your question. you cant even connect. did you download the usb drivers for the nokia cable? and what version uberdata are you using? make sure you use 1.7

With the NB you do get garbage, but that's still reading from the ECU (that's datalogging). I'm trying to datalog, not tune (yet). You can't tune with a NB.
I've tried versions 1.6 and 1.7. I mainly get a flateline for everything. I've check my soldering. and I've install the USB driver. I've tried reversing RX and TX. There has to be a way to figure out if anything is being tranmitted through the line.
Any help?

Re: uberdata/datalogging.... HELP!! (scartail)
the only other thing i can think of is make sure in "device manager" the usb drivers you installed are set for COM1-4. I think mine was set at COM5 by default and uberdata only goes up to COM4.

I wrote a small Cygwin C program for my laptop that communicates with the ECU the same way the Uberdata datalogging does. It sends request through the COM port and receives replies from the ECU if everything is connected properly. You could also try ECU Control as that will also show you ECU information with an Uberdata .bin. I can send you my program later tonight if you want.
