Default Uberchips

I just talked to uberteg last night and was quite impressed on this chip. So let me get this straight. I put the chip in and its like hondata, but i still need tuning right?
basically it just gets rid of fmu and missing link so the ecu will like boost. and i guess it retards timing for every psi of boost? will i just be able to hook it up with my new injectors and vafc adn up the boost? or do i still need to dyno tune?
im on the waiting list i guess you can say, i have to IM him on friday and ask if he has more in stock.

also could more people tell how they like the chip? thanks

1. yes you still need tuning... just take it to a dyno get the hp/tq/ af and send it back to him and he tunes it

2.yes you can hook up to new injectors... as long as impedance match
if you use a VAFC to increase fuel..you also increase timing and it may be more difficult for him to tune.

3.yes retards timing and eliminates fmu and missing link..

4. i sent my P28 to him about a week or 2 ago and haven't heard back..
a lot of people like it

its good to get an af just to make sure you are not lean at WOT

Well it would if you were tuning it at the dyno, but since the current revision of the chip does not come with ROM editing software, you can't tune it at the dyno.

Basically what he will do is take your ECU program, look at your dyno sheet w/af graph, and modify the program to better suit your engine. Next best thing to dyno tuning.

There will be a new version of the chip coming out that includes software for you to edit and burn on your own.

i talked to uberteg at length last night all about his chips. bottom line - wait a couple weeks, dish out $200 for the chip plus a little more for some burning stuff and it will act just like a hondata stage 4, but for a 1/4 or the price. it will come with software to tune it from your computer. AWESOME if you ask me. he really knows his ****! hopefully i will be one of the first to try it out. hth
later

Uberteg...Can you give us more info about the program and how we will be able to reprogram chips like hondata. Also can you chip a p28 to be a p72 similar to how skunk 2 does it.

Have you guys seen the loooong thread on his chip that he started?? Cause alot of the question you guys are asking are there:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=436368

On top of that several people, including myself have done reviews on the chip.

thats not a very good process for tuning a car. its gonna be very tough to just look @ at a dyno graph and tune a car. how does that tune the part throttle and how does it tune the idle? Your never going to be able to extract max power out of something like this, where the timing value is preprogrammed and the a/f is basically just a tweaked hondata base map. We all know hondata base maps are not perfect too. then U have to go dyno, send the chip back to him, him send it back w/ the tweaks, then u dyno again? Not hating on the uberteg chip here but until the rom editor software comes out, it seems like u r just shooting in the dark.

I believe you can also tune it on the dyno with an afc, seems like that would be the way to go, have it tuned on the dyno with the afc, send him the chip back along with the printout and your afc settings and have the chip burned to your settings...

yeah well its either that or make the software free and he will make no money and probably put another company out of business.

Smart man

Hey B20B, i got your ecu last week, should go out rommorow or weds, i keep running out of eproms And my stupid turbo install sucked away 2 days of my life Yah I have an idea to help prevent piracy which i'm going to implemnent so i can release the editor so u guys can tune it yourself!

You are 100% correct when u say i cant do part throttle tuning or tuen it dead on with a dyno sheet, but i can lean it out some to make some mroe power while still maintaining a fair margin of safety. My prefered meothod rightn ow is tunign with an afc on the dyno.

thats kind of a bad situation to be in then.

I just see alot of people comparing this to hondata. which it is not. I have heard uber say himself that this will work good for people who already have an afc, because it allows u to run big injectors and the computer reads boost. but you still gotta use the afc to clean up the fuel because u can never get a base map perfect.

This is a great product for people using the hack, and it is better then the hack, but it is not as good as hondata. Ive never seen uber claim it to do what hondata can do yet I still see many people comparing it to hondata. Unless u have the rom editor software, or have access to a tuner w/ the rom editor software, it is not an equal product to hondata. If he were to market the chip w/ rom editor and some kinda piracy protection then that would be the key, but then it wouldn't be so cheap. so like i said earlier, hes in a bad situation. I just wanted to make clear that this is not a substitute for hondata but somewhere inbetween at a great price.

I was typing that up before u replied. but yeh, u can get it close and use the afc to clean it up @ 100$ i think thats pretty bad ***
