type r tranny ???'s
I currently bought a 2001 type r tranny. I got a good deal from a friend on it, but I dont think the LSD is working...But he says its not gonna burn both tires off the line, its more for track driving. I think he is just covering up so I dont get mad. Does anyone else have this tranny and burn BOTH tires? : x
I put the GM LSD additive as well. Is this stock LSD good enough? I mean even when I shift into second, just the one wheel spins.....help

To see if your diff is working, or even present, in your case.
1. Set the parking brake and block the rear wheels.
2. Raise the front wheels off the ground (use jackstands for the love of god!)
3. With the engine OFF, shift the tranny into first gear.
4. Rotate either wheel by hand and check that the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction.
5. If the wheel you're not turning does not rotate, your diff is either damaged or has been swapped.
The above was taken from the service manual and it's paraphrased.

unless im just an idiot, why would the other wheel turn the OPPOSITE direction? Wouldnt you want it turning the same direction? Isnt that the design of the "parking brake" for dodge intrepids, so the vehile wont move?
