Default twinscroll manifold?

Im debating wether to get a twinscroll manifold or not. Right now I have a junk equal length manifold that has small primaries and is non-twinscroll. I have a divided gt4294 1.28 a/r backside on it. I see full boost(20 psi)around 6800rpm according to my gauge cluster. Im not sure how accurate the cluster is considering my vtec is set at 4700 and on the cluster it hits around 5200 rpm or so.

So im trying to figure out if by switching to a topmount twinscroll manifold if I will pick up spool time sooner than I do know. I dont want to spend $1000 on a twinscroll and only pick up spool a couple hundred rpm's sooner.

Thank you for your suggestions.

and this is for a race car.

A divided manifold will help with the spool time. I've seen dyno sheets showing spool differences between 400-1.2k, going from a undivided to a divided manifold. Changing the camshaft center-lines will also help with spool time.

Well im not worried really about spool. It's just time for a new manifold and I wanted to see if it was really worth swithing to a twinscroll topmount or just get a singlescroll topmount. If spool is increased by 1k rpm, Then it might be worth the money, but not for a couple hundred rpm...

highly doubt you will see 1000rpm faster spool, probably more like 500rpm if you are lucky... you have a huge turbo on a street car its not going to spool like a 30R to begin with, also assuming your Turbo is non-ball bearing?

yea its non-ball bearing. to me its not worth spending $1000 on a twinscroll for a couple hundred rpm.

thanks for your input man.

My full race twinscroll spools my 40R faster than my peakboost ram horn spooled my 35r, not to mention I dont have have ANY creep issues at all now with the twinscroll.

how much bigger is the comp wheel on the 40r compared to the 35r? and are the exhaust housings the same size?

thats what im trying to figure out. if its worth the extra money of getting a full-race twinscroll topmount or just a regular t4 topmount..

A ****ING MANIFOLD IS NOT TWINSCROLL... You need to read more and talk less.

full-race list it as a twinscroll topmount manifold? So im kinda confused as to what you are saying..

Divided manifolds work well, if you have a divided turbo get a divided manifold. Pretty simple.

And yes it is worth the money if you running that large of a turbo. can i ask why you have a 1.28 a/r housing on a civic in the first place? if you want to save some money you could just get a smaller housing. It would be the cheapest and easiest way to get some spool and there no way you need a 1.28 a/r.

So really if you can't afford or justify the divided manifold then bringing the housing size down is the only option.
