Turbonetics 60-1 or Precision which one???
I just wonder which turbo is better to be use and what is the price range for a turbonetics 60-1 turbo and a precision which one is best to use and why, also what is the price different between the both.
I got an offer on a precision turbo
and turbonetics 60-1 with same spec.
But really which one is best. What are you guys using out there???

I have always used Precision turbochargers. They have a good warranty (one year or twelve thousand miles), a wide selection of turbochargers, use their own casted turbine housings, great customer support (from dealers and them) and most of their turbochargers use a good wheel combination. I have a Precision GT30R on the way right now. It's basically a Garrett GT30R with a Precision turbine housing.

my personal experience with turbonetics = blowing seals</TD></TR></TABLE>
How about if they both come with 1 year warranty would this make a difference??

This is what I got from turbonetics web site. Whics precision will compare to this??? Anyone knows??
The 60-1 Performance Turbocharger
Representing the careful marriage of a unique high flow/high efficiency compressor section teamed up with a T4 turbine section the 60-1 has proven itself in every competitive motorsport application from drag racing to Bonneville. Available with either the standard (4" inlet, 2.5" discharge) compressor housing or the 60-1 HI-FI ( 2 3/4" inlet, 2" discharge) compressor housing, the 60-1 will outflow any standard T04B with ease! (The 60-1 HI-FI will deliver approximately 90-95% of the flow capacity of the standard 60-1.)
The 62-1 Performance Turbocharger
The 62-1 represents TURBONETICS' efforts to produce a premium turbocharger for the engine builder looking for that extra "edge" of power. Based on hand selected compressor components precisely contoured on computer controlled machining centers, the 62-1 delivers an honest 10% greater airflow than the standard 60-1. The 62-1 is not for every one, but if you can handle its potential, the expense will be well worth it.
BOTH THE 60-1 AND THE 62-1 ARE AVAILABLE WITH THE EXCLUSIVE TURBONETICS "TUFF TURBO" OPTION FOR SUPERIOR DURABILITY!

Turbonetics customer service sucks. PTE's service kicks ***. I had a T'netics turbo that blew the seals and needed rebuilding, and it was a bitch to get anything done. Rod and the gang @ PTE run a top notch business.
Precision turbos have been proven numerous times on this site, as has their customer service
Turbonetics has had a bad rep. from awhile ago about blowing the seals or leaking AND they were known for having really shitty customer service. So think about it . . . . .
Turbonectics does supply quite a few turbos to ome of the Hot Rod and Pro guys, so maybe their higher line of turbos has more as far as quality control goes. I also *heard* turbonectics were alittle more friendlier now then they used to be.
bottom of the line 60-1 wheel was the **** . . . back in the day.
the SC61's GT wheel owns it now.

check sponsors marketplace in forced induction. They can be had under $700 including shipping . . . but it'll vary as some vendors can give the homie hookup.

I didn't know this but turbonetics is using the 360 degree thrust bearing on all the new turbos and the 60-1
Trim 60-1
compresor-60-1
turbine you can pick stage II V etc...
I know a couple of cars running the 60-1 with no problems for over 3 years
The turbo is rated for 600HP + for 9 sec. cars
If all the inf. I was given is correct this might equal a precison turbo.
We really need someone that knows both turbos to the heart it seems like they might be a match and both might be same quality, using same parts, specs etc.
I'm not sure would someone clear this
