It's not the internals that make it difficult, though the rods are smaller.. It's the accompanying parts that are a pain in the *** for that motor. Clutch, flywheel, and intake manifolds all come from different parts of different cars. If you ask any shop about "what about this for a ZC?" and you're outside SoCal, they're response would more than likely start out as "Uhhh....well, I'm not sure what this fits, but I'll have to call to see if its the same as a D16 or B series, and if the spline matches.. etc..

Go with the LS, you'll save more money later..

As a ZC owner, I will give it to you straight. Findng parts can be a pain in the ***. The block internals are easy as they are the same for most d16's. the hard parts are things like the timing belt, head gasket crank pulley, the minor wiring involved and then finding an ECU that will make run correctly (87-89 teg ECU's run rich). There is a lot of cross referencing when owning a ZC.

Try having one built. The block was built by Endyn and it's not cheap. The ECU is a Zdyne. and all the other parts to make a it a turbo car had chosen or had to be fabbed. The only turbo kit that will fit remotely close but not perfect is a greddy kit. Then you be plagued with the issue of people asking if it's an LS or "What's a ZC?"

PM me if you got questions.
