Default Turbocharged RSX-S Setups

A customer of mine is looking to turbocharge his RSX A-Spec. Full-Race is out of the question... Peakboost manifold is looking very nice (thanks Jeff), but they don't make charge piping, downpipe, etc.

Anyone else out there make complete kits if my customer decides against the Peakboost? Post up some shots of your boosted RSX's... and let me know what you did for fuel. I'm assuming an aftermarket rail, regulator, and custom return line? Thanks!

take a hop over to clubrsx.com

More than enough adequate examples of setups in their forced induction forum to get you started in the right direction.

Be sure to stay away from Cybernation lol

Yes, stay away from Cyberation for sure

How much power is he looking at making? For over 450, I would recommend exactly that: pump, rail, FPR, and custom return line

As far as kits go, AFI I believe just released their k series kits. Otherwise your best off putting together something custom. Peakboost manis are nice, AFI sidewinders, or you could stick w/ a log such as Revhard.

We just installed a Full Race Stage 1 GT kit on an RSX-S. It uses a GT28 turbo, talk about an awesome setup. That thing felt like the turbo was connected to the gas pedal. lol Made 343whp at 9psi, 270tq with a huge powerband.

Anyways, i know you said full race is out of the question, just wanted to give some insight on the kit. Everything fit very good and it included all the proper heat wrap necessary to keep from melting everything on the firewall.

Stock fuel system, how?

I love the FR kit as well, but the guy doesn't want to spend ~ $6K on just the kit alone.

Nah, I can understand where he is coming from. By the time it's said and done with fuel, clutch, exhaust, boost control, EMS, and labor, you're looking at almost $10K to boost a car that cost him $15K.

He's looking to be around $7K out the door.

Well, add up the costs that you can't get away from, fuel system, clutch, etc. and see what you've got left for a turbo kit. If he's paying labor to install it, you're not left with much for a turbo kit.

Whats his goals?

Fuel could be as simple as a walbro 255 and 750's or as complex as dual bosch's and 1600's

Full Race has made over 450 without the use of a return although thats not the norm

I was at 78% duty cycle w/ a Bosch 044 and 1000's. 570/390

Hmm... Never knew you could run the car without a return setup on larger injectors. His goals are only ~400whp. I'm thinking a journal bearing 61mm turbo, with the norm TIAL 44mm/50mm etc.

Yeah I know a lot of people w/ a returnless system making great power. Many are well over 350HP, some over 450. FR did an RSX well over 400HP without the use of a return line.

For ~400 he could get away w/ a Walbro 255, 750's, FPR, Fuel Rail, and use the stock feed as the return.

Or Walbro 255 and 1000's, stock fuel system. He may just get by with an intake 255 and 750's, but this depends on how far past 400 he wants to go.

I'd be really interested in what CUBISH is running besides an intake 255. Especially what the duty cycles are like at 470 w/ no return line

Definitely take a look at the turbo forums over at ClubRSX. I'm in no way affiliated with them but there is a tremendous amount of info about turbo DC5's. FR actually is a moderator over there.

are all the cybernation kits junk? am new to the honda world, actually new to turbo's in general.

am buying an 05 type s and was considering this kit...

http://hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1959707

all other reviews ive read of cybernation products were positive...

want to get my car into the mid 12's (on paper at least, power to weight- i know its hard to get these cars to hook lol)

am hoping to stay under 2000 and would think i should be safe to run 10psi or so without going into the motor....

appreciate any info
