Default Turbo Timer Install PROBLEM in a DC2 **SEARCHED***

Im sweating like ******* crazy sitting out in my 97 teg tryin to get this POS to work.
got it grounded and have the harness hooked up to the only 2 connectors i could find under there. For this harness tho that i bought separately, there is a random white wire sticking out with some sort of connector on the end....does this need to be plugged into something, bc there sure as hell isnt an instruction manual with this harness. Pleasssse help me

Also, when i try to put it on a ground, it turns on for like half a second, then turns off and doesnt come back on unless i disconnect the ground and wait for a while then try it again, and its on a good ground, ive checked in a million times.

some timers have a wire for the parking brake. it applies a ground to it when you pull the brake.

I have never seen a turbo timer that was not hooked up to the parking brake, it prevents a thief from jumpin in your car while it is running, canceling the timer out and driving away with your car.....

Im having the same problem with my greddy gtt3 and the harness that is pictured above. when i turn my car on the turbo timer stays on for just a sec and then shuts off. I can't get it to stay on either. I have everthing hooked up like it should be. I don't know what else im missing. i called greddy and they didn't know anything about my problem. They were acting really dumb also, that kinda pissed me off. Anyway, im hoping somone will shed some light on this issue b/c im getting very fustrated with this 30min install that has been going on for 4 hours now!!!!1

the white wire that is hanging out on the same side as the plug and play harness is not used on usdm cars, only jdm specs

but, i also will be doing this install with the plug and play harness, i will see how everything goes and hope i wont run into the same problems

when i press "select"+"timer"+"power", the unit turns on and starts flashing "ER.5". Then if i hit select again it just says "P". Nothing else seems to work except when i press power after the unit is on it shuts off fine, but dosent come back on when power is pressed again. I can't figure out if the wireing harness is fucked up like the guys above or if the unit it self is fucked up. Still waiting for this 6hour project to come to a close.

ok, i just kinda ghetto hot wired everthing (holding wires to ignition with my fingers) and the timer is working. Its that ******* shitty *** harness thats a peice of crap. 7 hours later and this thing is still not installed. im still contemplating on if im just going to cut the harness and splice it into the ignition or if im just going to buy another harness. desicisions desicisions!!

ok, the problem is def with the harness and the ground. I have tried it 2 different ways. Way 1.- hook up turbo timer with your harness and regular ground. Dosent work (i get power, but it give me the wierd "er.5" reading. Way2.-Hook up timer with out your harness using the same ground no problems. This leaves me to believe that there is something wrong with the harness. On a side note with the harness and the turbo timer hooked up, I seem to be getting a bad ground where ever i try to ground out too. When i hook up to a ground it turns the timer on NORMALLY for an instant, then it goes off. I have tried every ground on the driver side and with the harness installed none of them work. I then do it manually with outthe harness and and every ground works. There is something wrong with the harness. Ive also tried connecting a ground to the battery's ground and it still dosent work.

Well I look at it like this, why spend around $100 or so when I sit in my car for at least a min getting things out and disconnecting my steering wheel and other things. Plus I have to drive slow through my subdivision so its cooling down then also.

But some people want to have them so be it. Everyone has there own opinion.

Oh if I had to take my steering wheel off and stuff like that I would probally not install one. But Without the turbo getting fresh cooler oil, it still has a chance of cooking the oil in the turbo.

they're pretty easy to install w/o a harness. plus the ebrake wire won't be in the harness, you'll have to run that seperate from the turbo timer.
