turbo system install in b16a rev problem
I just finished installing the turbo system sunday and for the past 3 days have been trying to tune it up... but I've been running into the problem of the car wont rev past 3,500rpm it's like there is a rev limiter in place the computer is not giving me any codes but the engine lights on on my dash I'm running stock ignition system, pr3 obd0 computer, dsm450cc injectors, t3/t4 .50 hot/ .60cold, walbro 255phl fuel pump, I'm running BRE for tuning and have LC-1 for o2 readings but am trying to get it to rev higher before I start using the LC-1. any help would be great thanks.
Check your ecu and make sure its grounded - I once had a revlimit at 4500 rpm and hooked up a wire from the corner screw on the ecu to a bolt on the car and it worked perfect.
I tryed the ground wire and screw thing but that dident work.... still same problem, I pulled the dist and it's still looking new. I'm outta idea's any other ones would be great. I've also tryed to play with fuel maps and ignition timing and non of thats helped.
it could be the way your ecu was chipped (if its chipped) i had an ecu chipped one time and it worked fine for a while but then was limiting me at 3.5k and running like ****. ended up being a bad chip install job. it seemed like the car would go into limp mode. just a thought.
yea if u have a static electricity charge in ur body and touch those chips it can kill them...that happen to me last week and my car wouldn't rev over 3000 and had a solid CEL
