Turbo spark plugs
I have a GT30r'd B18c1. When tuning my tuner gapped a set of NGK BKR7E's for me. I have a new set of the same spark plugs and I'm unsure what to set the gap at. I figured this would be the place to ask.

Re: Turbo spark plugs
i started with BCPR7ES-11 and ive gone through 2 sets already within a year and a half, nothing but troubles with rough idle, so im going with ZFR6FGP which is one range colder GPOWER platinum's for the b18b. I know theres alot of hype about platinum and boost not mixing but you have to really read the details. These plugs should work better then the coppers and last longer, we will see at the end of the week.

Hey I used BKR7E on my current build and yeah it does idle a little rough .... so what are those ZFR ones? Iridium? (Dont feel like searching now lol)

I run NGK R5671A-7 for street use and R5671A-8 for track (non resistor plugs). There both gapped down to .5mm. My idle is pretty smooth and they seem to last ages.

Re: Turbo spark plugs
I've been having a hard time getting a hold of him. I know he's very busy and I don't want to bug him. Figured this plug was a common plug used for turbo hondas so I thought someone here would know.

Re: Turbo spark plugs
I know my setup has to use resistor style plugs which would be the bkr7e. Mine is gapped at .22 anything higher wont hold boost over 1 bar

ngk goes colder the higher the number, a 6 would be hotter than a 7 etc

Re: Turbo spark plugs
exactly, i only wanted one heat range colder, not 2, 6 is factory on the vtec heads, 5 is factory on non vtec motors, the plugs are perfect now that they are 6's instead of 7s for the amount of mods i have. OP is actually using a b18c1 so nevermind what i said lol

Re: Turbo spark plugs
You want to run the WIDEST gap possible, without blowing spark. Alot goes into choosing heat range..
People that dont know, just generally classify the case. You can have a bone stock gsr on 12lbs want 8's...on the other hand you can bone stock GSR on 12lbs want 6's.. you need to learn how to read plugs correctly.
For boosted setups start @ .032 and gap down as needed.. MOST of the time, cars boosting under 12-15lbs will like .025-.032, it just depends.
