Default Turbo recommendations

Hi all! Well I'm going to be in the market for a turbo pretty soon and as i was researching i noticed that there are a lot of options out there. So i figured that i would post this thread to see if i could get some input on what turbo would suit my combo the best and meet my horsepower goals.

The car is a 95 ex coupe completely gutted with no cage as of yet

The Block
B18C1 w/M.I.D Darton sleeves (84mm, O-ringed)
Crower LS crank (knifedged and nitrided)
Cower rods
JE Pistons (9.5:1)
ARP main and head studs

The Cyl Head
GSR haed
Ferrea valves (oversized)
Crower springs & retainers
port and polish by Alaniz Cyl. Heads
ITR cams
Crower cam gears
JG Edelbrock manifold

Fuel System
sumped stock tank
Edelbrock 80GPH pump
Aeromotive filters
Aeromotive regulator
1000cc injectors
-8 feed, -6 return

Engine Management
Electromotive TEC3

Goals
I'm hoping to definately run 10's but 9's are the ultimate goal.

Thanks in advance for any input.

You've got more to worry about than just power if you're trying to go 9s without a cage, license, nomex, wheelies, suspension etc. But regardless, the BW S372, GT4202, and GT4294 can all work in your favor for such higher power needs to make these numbers. What is the budget that you are planning for?

I'm going to be doing the chassis myself. I have all the equipment to do it so thats no problem. I already have a suit and my license to go that fast from driving my Grand National

I'm not wanting to run 9's on my first outing. I've never drag raced a front wheel drive car so I'm sure there will be a little learning that will need to be done on my part.

I'm kind of leaning towards a Borg-Warner. Looking at the S366. Will that push enough air to make that type of power or would it be wiser to go with the S372. My budget is around $1800 which points toward a 366. I want to limit my boost to under 30 as well.

What is the power potential of say the S366 at around 28psi? Will it get me to say low 10's?

If you're going to use Borg Warner (which i would recommend), i would go with either the S368 or S372. Either of those turbos will get you in the 10s...9's i'm sure if you're a good driver. I know that Tony1 ran something like a 9.37 w/ the S372.

I can't say whether or not you can do "low 10s" with an S366. Some people can, others can't. I can for the most part understand what you're trying to achieve in terms of power, but its best not to use an E.T as as gauge to determine what power you're looking for. Get a power goal, and state that as opposed to an E.T. If you see some hondas in the same class w/ a similar build (incl. chassis) w/ a particular power level GOING that speed or E.T., use that as your gauge.

As for the S366, that is a good track turbo if static compression is rather high, but from my on-track experience, the S372 would be a bit more ideal for the upper 700whp that it seems you're looking for as opposed to an S366. Please let me know, I have those available.
