Default Turbo R watcha think of this setup?

Hey guys Here is going to be my setup in a week. I just got the final details down.

.50A/R T3/T4 Turbo
SFP Custom Manifold
Slim line Cooling fan
Custom DP 3"
Custom IC Piping
Spearco Front Mount IC
Tial Wastegate
Vortech FMU
RC 310 CC Inj.
Turbonettics IC Connectors
HKS Super SQ. BOV
New Ex. gaskets
All Oil lines and return lines...
boost gauge
EGT gauge

Only question I got. I have never seen the SFP manifold. Anyone heard or use the SFP Manifold? Also I am thinking about upgrading to RC440's or 550's. You guys think it is worth upgrading? I will have a built bottom end this summer. I will be running 6.5psi until that time. Thanks.

I agree, I dont like using FMUs. What i suggest is a paxton FPR or a aeromotive FPR. I never had a bad experience with those, I wish I could say the same about the vortech FMU.

the problem with that is the paxton and aeromotive are 1:1 regulators and won't give enough fuel pressure to run correctly with a stock ecu. Sometimes FMU are just a necessary evil, but in all honesty they aren't that bad.

Even though its on a 1:1 ratio i haven't had any problems with them. I beg to differ when you say it doesnt give enough fuel! It gives plenty of fuel, all you have to do is turn up the psi's of fuel pressure. The problem with the FPR is that if you have it set pretty high you may suffer on lower rpms when not in boost. But other then that, I havent seen problems with it. And how do you fix running a lil rich on lower rpms why NOT IN BOOST? The answer to that question is pretty simple, and very easy to do, anyone can do it. The answer is STAY IN BOOST!!!
hahahhahahhaa

I would save some money and surely get Hondata or any other engine management. I made alot of mistakes and the moral of the story is if ur going turbo on a honda or any other car that is not boosted from factory , you must get proper management before doing anything. U will save ur motor and surely have confidence driving it hard. I would get the .63AR instead of the .50. Lata

the SPF manifold is very good from what I have heard,.......but you might want to look into the inlinepro manifold thats been posted or go to inlinepro.com. what can I say I love inline!!!

hey, i don't want to doubt your unorthodox method, but have you dyno tuned your car, or ran it at the track? how many psi are you running? i think your setup sounds kind of freaky.

1. go stand alone...this is the only regret I have (not doing it while I had the money)...and I'm fixin it...so do it from the get go.

2. 310cc is a bit small...go 440cc or better.
3. 50 AR is okay ut .63 or better is better!

4. FMU sux!

Everything else

Thanks for the input guys. I thought 330's were small. I know FMU suck. I am getting Hondata 2b this summer, as for the .50a/r I think I will up it to .63/ar this is the beauty of a custom kit. I can just trade different parts. I am looking into getting a thicker headgasket to drop compression a little too. One thing for all those who are thinking of Turbo.... SEARCH...RESEARCH.....SEARCH again, I found looking at more information about it helps make the decisions easier, and also save a good amount of money to make sure you do it right. Thanks Again

I don't have a mighty type r or nothing but I have the sfp manifold on my 99 si and I love it. I also have a garrett turbo with .63 AR. I am only running ~7psi via an HKS wastegate. It is a little big for my internally stock motor but I won't be stock much longer, and can start to really use this turbo!
