No, it's a B16A, just like it's stamped.

No, a B16A is not a JDM B16A2. Whoever told you that is an idiot. There are multiple B16A's.

And yes, exhaust manifolds are all the same. Stop listening to your friends, and start doing your own research - they apparently can't be trusted with basic information.

Wikipedia is a fairly inaccurate source for engine info, they don't even have the usdm low comp b20b listed, as well as incorrect rod lengths I've seen as well

Oh really? Because uh, I just looked, and they do (kind of). "Compression: 8.8:1 or 9.2:1". It's not perfect, but it's apparently leaps and bounds better than his friends, who think that a B16A is the same a a B16A2.

iirc they used to list the 8.8 as 126hp separate engine, however they now do not.
Duly noted

Yeah. I mean, disadvantage of it being freely edited by anyone, it does sometimes have incorrect information, so you aren't wrong, but it's a far sight better start than OP's friends at least.

We need more specifics before anyone can give you a reasonable offer.

Base on the photos it looks like a knockoff china charger which seriously degrades value. Also seeing how extreme the center section is clocked (which is bad) I find it hard to believe it hasn't suffered a seal failure, especially if there's no inlet restrictor on the oil feed line.

Take detailed photos of the components. If most or all of them are knockoffs then the whole kit really isn't worth anything.
