im just goin a 3" exhaust on my car and need a new muffler...what u guys prefer for a turbo muffler? i was lookin into the N1 turbo mufffler... im runnin no cat and 3" dp on my 99 civic si

 

I've always enjoyed my Thermal mufflers with custom piping. Good sound and quality.

 

I've got an 80mm (about 3.15") Apex'i WS2 and I like it pretty well. It has an extremely deep tone because of the size of the canister, I actually made a silencer because the low frequency bass sounds were starting to drive me crazy. It sounds a little louder/deeper than stock with the silencer in and didn't lose much power, then I just take the silencer out when I need to.

i'm in the final stages of gethering parts for my LS turbo setup. and wondering about exhaust.

i will be running a 2.5" DP > 3" cat > 3" ex. how loud would a non muffled exhaust be? a friend of mine has a 1.8t jetta and he has no mufflers and it sounds great and isnt loud at all. unfortunatley i dont know anyone with a boosted honda so i have zero clue how it would sound.

 

Without a muffler it will sound like crap. I helped build an exhaust system for an LS turbo and used a 2.5 dp and went through a cat to a 3" cat back, from there we put in a 18" resonator and an apexi N1 muffler. Would highly recomend that, sounds good, no raspy crap at all.

 

very true, a Vw has much lower comp. thus they have a lower, deeper tone. I higher comp. honda motor would be loud, blatty and sill....well, loud
