Turbo Kit on a ITR
My mate is considering buying a Rev Max Turbo Kit for his ITR, he's gonna run 9psi on stock internals and use it as the straight bolt on kit, with no other mods.
What sort of times will it run and what sort of power & Torque will it make, he'll be running on 17" street tyres by the way.
Cheers

ehh well on 17's maybe md to lower 13's depends on how good its tuned and driving skills
with smaller 15's and decent traction low 13's to 12's are possible.
depends on too many variables.

Hmmm 9psi on ITR stock. I would suggest you get a thicker headgasket say from Inlinepro. Their headgaskets work great and will lowers the compression on the ITR as well. Just my opinion. ITR + Boost = Disaster waiting to happen.
i dunno we'll find out next week , im finishing up my street tuning this weekend and hitting the dyno to up the boost and work the timing maps on the 8th.
its all in the tuning . thats why they have had probs. just taskes more patience to tune out detonatin becuase the compression

its only 6.5 now becuase of the wg spring , but i got an MBC today so i can push 8 on the street and might up it to 10 on the dyno , we'll see. i haev to see if i can get some race gas , i dont wanna detonate.
i remember a hatch having an ITR motor, stock, and a custom turbo kit, pushing out over 300 hp. it didnt take much boost to get those numbers, and the turbo spooled faster with the higher compression.
i would suggest him getting some kind of engine management, and ditch the FMU. i wouldnt risk it on that motor.

Stock R motor will handle quite a bit of boost. You must have a some sort of standalone to do it though. I would not recommend boost on a R at all without standalone (my opinion).
Also some ARP head bolts might not be a bad idea.
