turbo keeps blowing on me
ok so i have went through total of 3 turbo so far. first was a precision turbo and it pulled 328 whp on the dyno and on my way home it blew up. after that i bought a used garrett turbo from craigslist and oil was coming out of down pipe's flex pipe like crazy. so i replaced it with used holset turbo from craigslist which looks fine like the other once with no shaft play or anything. right when i put that one on, same thing again. oil was drippin from the flex pipe and from where cool compressor connects to the intercooler piping. so i finally give up and bought a brand new garrett turbo 60-1 and i am scared to put it on and blow it up. there is no kink on the oil return line or anything so i am assuming that may be the oil is coming from the head.
so i was wondering if its ok to connect a stock header on and see if oil is coimng from the header. will it be ok for my motor to run that way when i am tuned for turbo with 1000 cc injectors and all the other good stuff i have for my turbo.

can you take a picture of you drain setup and also what size oil line are you using.
if the motor is splitting out oil, you will see it on your exhaust port on the head. have you done a compression test to see if the ringlands are blown?
you be fine putting a header back on and driving it around

ill try to get the pic up this weekend. i am using -10 for the return line but i am thinking about switching to -12 for my new turbo.
i know i know now. i will never buy used turbo from craigslist.
i am also gonna do a compression test this weekend too. i dont know why i never thought about that.
i am using 10w30 full synthetic oil for my motor.

you stated your problem yourself twice. stop buying used products, that's why they are on craigslist and not on someone's car. you probably spent more then a brand new turbo would cost you.
