Default Turbo ITR block?

I have a 94 GSR with Rev Hard stage 2 turbo kit in it, but too bad my bottom end blew up, so I ordered a ITR short block from HMO, still waiting for it but should I keep my turbo kit in my car with the ITR short block and GSR head? any body had any experience with this setup? if I should kee it, should I do some rebuilt for the block or just keep stock ITR block run low boost?

how much did you get that short block for? You prob could have just bought a built turbo block for a little more. But to answer your question, that block will be fine, i wouldn't go over 300hp with it though, and with that high compression, i would get a really good tune with some good fuel management.

I paid $3000 total for the ITR short block. I was gonna order a build turbo B16 block from importbuilders.com, but I'll have to take all the cores off my car ship it to IB. thats gonna take forever.. so I just ordered a stock ITR block.

I have hondata S200/W boost options, the car are 75% tuned before it blew up.

I could have had a Benson sleeved, built LS shortblock for that price!

If you can still do it, cancel that order.

You can get an exospeed built motor for under 3 grand, with sleeves, good rods, forged pistons, and whatever CR you want. 3K for a weak stock motor is a ripoff.

That is a rip off. I can't believe people buy motor from HMO. They are one of many companies that have prices too high.

their prices are kinda high but they are very good people to deal with, and i am thinking he's getting a long block for 3000, thats too much for a short block. And yeah man cancel that order if you can. Buy a messed up block for around 200, send it off to get fully built. May cost you like 100-200 more but its worth it.

what really sucks is that he has a time issue, and all the builders, especially local ones, are too damn busy. BTW, if you have your old block, which blew up, it must have a hole in it or something huh, because otherwise why wouldnt you build the old one. You can send it off to cali, get it back fully built for 3k by ed i think if you check the classifieds, max time is about one month. He knows how to do it. I wish i would have gone that route instead of local cuz i'd be driving it by now.

Cancel order and get a built block. Heck you could buy a spare blown block for core even.

I made 307whp 208 ft/lbs torque at 9 psi on stock JDM ITR block 11.1:1 compression. This is only revving no higher than 7500 RPM.

short block is just the block, crank, rods and pistons. long block is whole motor.

With that high of compression and possible boost spikes I would agree it can be done put your pushing it. On pump gas you might get 5-7 psi anything higher and you need race gas static compression is too high
